pre soak ?
August 18, 2013 @ 05:37:18
Mine were sanforized so I didn't have to soak.
August 18, 2013 @ 18:49:51
is it a must that all unsanforized demin  has to be presoaked ? STFs?
August 24, 2013 @ 17:11:32
^ Its highly recommended.
You can do a cold soak for not that long if you want minimal shrinkage.
But eventually they are going to shrink when you do finally decide to wash/soak em

so is it a good idea to size up or size down? seem to be reading mixed answers throughout the thread.

i'm a 32 in 501s if that helps at all & those are slightly tight around my thighs.
September 05, 2013 @ 20:40:47
I went TTS on my jb0101 because they were sanforized and haven't really stretched at all
October 03, 2013 @ 20:12:15
People on here with a pair of momotaro 0702's? I might pick up a pair soon but want to wear them a bit more loose in the topblock but can't seem to find fitpics of people wearing em that way.
Btw: the denim most people in this thread are talkin about is japan blue, bit different than momotaro because although japan blue company owns momotaro they still are 2 different brands. Both have great denim tho so no hate

JP x Momo collab stuff
October 03, 2013 @ 21:14:20
Yes they do, although a lot of the jeans being discussed here aren't collaps. But they're nice jeans so it's cool with me lol. They do provide some great denim at a cheaper price then most japanese brands. I got a pair of 0100sp but regret not buying a loser pair with a bit of taper.
October 03, 2013 @ 21:17:13
I guess, the jb0101 are momotaros tho
October 04, 2013 @ 13:08:15
Technically they're not. There is a big price difference between "real" momotaro and japan blue( and the momo collabs) that is because the denim as in fabric and dye and the details on the product are different. That's why I don't get it why they put momotaro on the leather tag and not the japan blue name. Creates a lot of confusion.

@ mackness:
The JB0101 is a discontinued model. It was the predecessor to the now available JB0201 (the revamped skinny cut). JB0101 was/is part of the JB X Momo collabs.

October 30, 2013 @ 18:34:25
the Momotaro Tight Staight 0701 is the new Tapered Slim Fit, Even though it's not their Slim Fit Straight 0201,

The 0701 is def skinnier from the thighs to the leg opening.

And No....It's not a must to soak unsanforized denim, it is just ideal for comfortable fit.

Soaking will def take away the rigidness, which most people prefer, esp for a 15.8 oz denim, you want the roughness in the beginning for better fades.

Momotaro and Japan Blue Jeans are sis/brother companies, not the same at all.

Different cuts, styles, fabrics, dye, and quality, yet if you want to say Made In Japan is all similar then maybe.

But no way are these the same, the price point is one thing already, Momotaro has more premium quality and stitching imo.

Typical differences would be the way each pair from each brand looks, but the main difference to me is the longevity of the denim and way denim fades/fits your legs over time.

It's the most important factor, the end result of your denim, if you're paying 200-350 a pair you would want something nice to hold on to.

tried doing some research on momotaros and just need some clarifications.
are the tight straight fits like tapered a bit or the skinniest fit out of all the models?
thanks in advance.

Here's an update on my Momotaros, been wearing daily since 01/02/2013.
Just had my first wash since day one, been a year and a half since these were submerged.
