Help. How do i shrink a pair of black jeans waist wise only

Alright, one of those fucking cons of buying online is not being able to try on the clothes you buy. So I bought a pair of Mighty Healthy Super Skinny Jeans and I thought the fit was like Levi's so I ordered the wrong size. I bought it for like 10 dollars and it would cost more to ship it back then to just keep them. SO HOW DO I SHRINK THE JEANS WAIST WISE?

some choices
Soak the waist in cold water
Wear a belt
Wash the whole thing and just re-stretch the legs through wear

idk why, but the jeans are part spandex and it feels like 2 sizes up. my belt wouldnt even hold it up enough...

Hang by the pant legs and dip only the waist in the hottest water possible. Hot water will shrink the denim more than cold water. Using the hottest water will maximize the shrinking potential, if it's really bad I guess you could use some boiling water :p

If they have any percentage of stretch, there's no point in shrinking it. It"ll stretch back out.
