The Official Denime Thread

January 08, 2010 @ 14:51:12
Since there wasn't one already, figured I'd start one.
I don't have a pair myself but was looking at BiG & saw the denime 66XX tapered leg fit & it seems perfect.
Will probably be my next pair, going to have to drop $300!

Has anyone had any experience with these jeans?

It seems like they have only 2 models:
-Denime 66XX Type Tapered Leg Fit
-Denime XX Type Regular Straight Fit

&& in BiG for the 66XX it says the 33 is one-wash does that affect anything?

never had expeirence with these either but sufu has had a long going contest with the 66xx pair. tons of pics for fit refrences and evo pics.

Yeah I was actually just looking at those & the evo pics looks nice. These look like they'll fade pretty damn nicely & the fits are pretty much on point. But most people on sufu don't seem to sag at all & they got some crazy cuffs lmfao.

I wonder how these would look with a slight sag.

Not good... they're vintage cut with a mid rise.

Means they won't really shrink during washes/soaks, you don't need to do an initial soak, and the denim will be less rigid than raw denim (may have a small effect on fading).

pure genius; if your still looking for some new denims, you should consider the warehouse 660 jean. its a
66' cut much like the denime but with a lower rise/top block, might look much better sagged a little.

cant belive i just thought of that now....

Haha! Thanks kiko! Heard a lot of good stuff about Warehouse, I might check it out.
But yeah I don't sag too much just a slight sag.

Do you know how to size on Warehouse, 2 down or 1 down?

Reviving an old thread for a great brand!

Here we go. I'll start with a bunch of pictures and then I will say something about them.

Came in this plastic bag

The leather patch

Here you can see the first changes. The Lot# has been changed to 'XX' instead of the numbers before. The patch looks a lot more like leather than the older patch on my 66XX (at least what I remember)

New tag on the jeans

Another change. The red tab is gone. Interesting stitching over the hidden rivet.

Hardware looks the same to me when comparing to the old one.

Selvage line

Denim comparison to the denim on my 66XX.

The weave on the 66XX (on the right) looks tighter, RHT is harder to notice on the first look. It is very easy to see on the new denim. But is hasn't been soaked yet so maybe that will change.

BUT

To me the denim doesn't feel thinner like often said. Very rigid and crunchy (because of the starch I guess). The jeans were able to stand on their own. My old 66XX were also able to do it.

I put the new XX-type on a scale and compared its weight (14 or 14,5 oz. Contradicting info over the net) with my new XX-type 1951 (15oz).

XX-type: 1042g
XX-type 1951: 987 g

Measurements are nearly the same, so a bit surprised.

And now, the pre-soak fit!

Measurements (pre soak)
waist: 35,5
front rise: 12,5
back rise: 16,25
thigh: 13,5
knee: 9,875
leg opening: <9
inseam: 38

Where would I be able to find a pair Denimes?
October 08, 2011 @ 08:49:16
Blue Owl has some (but only the new cuts from the new owner).
But you could also check Rakuten for some shops or use a proxy and order directly from Denime
