Urbanoutfitters - unbranded 14.5 oz japanese selvage denim

i actually ended up buying a pair of these off my friend. the "tapered" fit is actually quite baggy, but the blue selvedge accents are pretty cool. the wash is rather plain though.

u fucking idiot

How much should I size down or up from my actual waist size on a tapered (or any fit) if I want a slim 511 like fit that doesn't look like shit with mid/hightop shoes? I do plan on sagging a bit. I'm 5'6 and normally wear a 29 or 30 waist in levis.

i'm the same waist size and i used 28 tapereds. its kind of uncomfortable for the first week but if you can button it all the way up at first you'll be okay. length wise, i'm around 5'9 and it's still kinda long on me..you should try getting them hemmed. before buying though i'd go mess around with the skinny fit too.

modernART I looked at the first entry on your site and your size 33 skinny fit measures to 31-32"? That's crazy, if that's how they all are I'm glad I saw that. And good progress so far by the way.

Thanks, man. Glad to see my blog coming in handy for a few people.

For anyone who might've missed it, here are photos after 35 consecutive days of wear:

Aye nice fades for 35 days. Here is my story on my black unbranded/ I got the black unbranded and it takes a long time to fade than the blue. No distress after 2 months, and alittle fading started at 2 months. At 3 Months, I soaked them, and now the fades are coming down really fast! So if you want to fade fast for these jeans, then you have to soak before wear. At 3 months plus, a small, small hole appeared around the crotch area. as small as a pin? I didnt want to wear these too long though so i really dont mind. Does anything think that the dye smells bad ahha i do.
February 10, 2011 @ 20:07:29
JCWC the black dye does smell bad LOL
even after a soak
February 10, 2011 @ 22:58:12
Haha, i like the smell.

Just like i like the smell of musky basements and gasoline.

Repair holes. If you can't sew learn to.

I dropped a can of paint today which splashed onto my jeans. FUUUCCKKKK! So they are now having their first wash for 5 months, I could have easily gone longer if I didn't have the accident.
February 12, 2011 @ 11:28:35
Don't worry about it, it's all a part of the process. The way the jeans turn out should reflect your life when you wear them and accidents like that happen

That sucks. A similar thing happened to me. I washed mine at 5 month because of a new year's puking incident.

Yo raw denim experts,

I'm going on almost 6 months now. I feel like a lil ickiness, if you know what I mean, when I wear them now. Should I freeze them to kill the bacteria or go for a wash?
February 12, 2011 @ 13:42:26
Wash them if they have decent contrast already. Mine didn't lose too much indigo when I cold machine-washed them at 5 months. Here is what mine looked like after the wash:

I will update in a bit with what they look like after 7 months.

Damn. What do you do while you wear these? Mine don't look like anything close to your's and they're nearing five months as well.

I honestly didn't wear them that hard. Just wear from the everyday life. They're skinnies btw.
February 13, 2011 @ 13:19:33

February 13, 2011 @ 14:49:17

Glad you like the blog, man! I plan on wearing them everyday for 1 whole year before washing them. I started on January 1 of this year.

Here are photos of the jeans after 6 consecutive weeks (42 days) of wear:

Dang you wear a belt and they still stretched that much? lol
February 13, 2011 @ 16:25:19
^haha, to be honest, i don't even need a belt to keep the jeans on my waist. i've gotten so used to wearing a belt with all my jeans in the past that it almost feels weird not to wear one. it's kind of like my outfit would be incomplete without a belt. it has become automatic just to wear one since i've grown accustomed to always wearing one all these years.
February 13, 2011 @ 16:37:44
Ah I see. What was your true waist? Did you size up/down?
February 13, 2011 @ 21:41:43
There are two size 30's at UO in the Spectrum (Irvine, CA) for $20.

True waist is a 32. Sized up 1 to a 33. Keep in mind I went with "skinny" and not the "tapered".
