Hate me for it.....this is my first pair of raw selvedge denim. I got a pair of tapered fit....size 30, which is what I wear in Levi 511s. So why is it I can't even get these to button all the way? I can get one button. Do I really have to just wear them until I can button them?

Yeah, just rock a belt eventually you'll be able to do em up

Never owned raw denim before and im about to buy some of the Unbranded Indigo Tapered Selvedge Denim Jean from UO and just wondering if someone could answer a few questions for me

I own no denim at all and i was wondering is the length and width the same?

What do you do if they start to smell? Do you have to wash them then or is there another way to get rid of the smell?

How bad do they bleed onto shoes?

fabreeze is a temporay solution, some people freeze their jeans to take away the smell. or if they just get too bad soaking will take away the smell..

I just hang mine in a room with the fan and a/c on. after about 12 hours the smell is gone (usually smoke from going to bars/shows), and i leave them there for another day or so since it's usually too hot in the summer to wear them all of the time.

Take your size 30 Levis, and measure the actual waist on them. I bet they measure ~16 inch across.
Levi jeans are light weight, and stretch considerably.

No. Inseam:
Skinnys 35.5in
Tapered 34.5in
Slim 34.5in

They bleed on shoes, but cuffing helps.

Unbranded Taper size 28 (huge mistake)

I had a really tough time with these. I sized down one when I got them to 28, and within a few months after I had purchased them gained a few inches in height and as a result several pounds. Needless to say, I was no longer a size 29 waist.

They were pretty damn tight in the thighs and calves, stretched very little. Owned them for about 2 years, wore for probably 8 or 9 months. 1 soak, 1 wash.

They are completely unwearable at this point. Haven't worn them since February. Finally decided to pull them out of my closet and wash them.

I got these on the online store today size 28, tapered. I have a few questions since this is my first time with raw denim. Should I soak them the first day or wait for 6+ months? I've heard mixed things. Is soaking in hot or cold water better?

Don't do a presoak, I'm like 99% sure that these are sanforized.

Just forget the 6 months bullshit rule and wear them for as LONG as possible. Guarantee you'll get some good fades. That was my first mistake when I got my first pair of raw denim (these). I tried to abide by the 6 month rule and was so eager to wash them right when the hit six months, when they barely had any fades. Waste of denim. Glad it was only these I got for $36 bucks.

Cold soaks and hot soaks are alot different. Cold soaks retain indigo, and don't shrink the denim as much. Hoat soaks remove indigo and you will have some shrinkage.

Apparently people get these for like 45 dollars on sale? Well I payed $100 for mine, and I'm not doing that again. Looking for a pair of tapered dark blue sz 31. My 30s ass pocket ripped right next to the seam, no fixing it. Somebody give me a price, and I'll PayPal you same day.

My tapered came in yesterday and I wore them all day today and they fit perfect. smile Definitely go tts because anything smaller and they will be too tight. I'm pretty sure they don't stretch, according to other people.

The only thing is I wish that the leg openings weren't so wide.

Depends on your style. I went with a 31 do to a deal for $40. I normally wear 32 everything else. I'm 6'2 165 lbs.

I buttoned everything up and it fit perfectly. I learned what tapered means also. It is snug all the way down to my ankles.

It will definitely be my go to for beltless pants.
