What are these? I know they are slim fit, but what is the wash/price? I'm lookin to cop.

I'm interested in some made in japan selvedge s001s and I keep reading that they shrink a lil bit but then stretch out alot. Any recommendations on sizing? I'm guessing down 1 or 2. I'm looking for something with a longer rise and more fitted than a 511 will these do the trick?

also can some one give me some info in uniqlo selvedge with a red patch? Are these from another season or something?

^ Size down 1 and they'll fit you exactly how you want. The Uniqlo raw denim with the red tab came out I believe in 2008 (correct me if I'm wrong). It's the best quality raw selvage denim Uniqlo has ever put out, and if you are able to get your hands on a pair in your size, they are most definitely worth it.

Are the red tabs made in Japan? also do they come in black as well as indigo? If I'm looking for a 30inch inseam and they are 34 will that make a big difference in what I want after hemming them?

^ They don't sell them in the stores anymore. You're best bet is to buy them on eBay. I believe they come in black, and idk why you would want to hem a 30 inch inseam unless you're really short.

they look like t-000 but i could be wrong. i forgot the price, tho. i don't remember the wash either lol. i have a pair tho.

and I can't really go wrong with buying the MIJ selvedge right? I mean is there huge difference in quality between the MIJ and the red leather patch ones?

^ Red leather patch ones will fade much better. MIJ's are EXTREMELY stubborn to fade.

Here's a pair of MIJ's after about 1 year:

Those are BY FAR the most faded pair of MIJ's I've ever seen. Supposedly the S-000 (Red Tab's) shed indigo like no other.

HOW did you manage to get the whiskers???

my MIJ's are fucking soft now, the stiffness left the denim a week into breaking them in, and the indigo is so dark.

did you use starch?

This confuses me. So in the shop, when you see the ones labelled UJ and the ones labelled Made In Japan, they really know to do that because they've been produced differently?

And yeah, in other news, I just bought some UJs. I fucking hate buying new clothes. I think this is my first raw pair, but they feel sooooooooo stiff. Like, I've worn skinny jeans that didn't feel this tight -- the rigidity amps it up. But it looked so good I bought it.

Soooooooo is there a chance -- since I searched the thread for "stretch" -- that the UK Uniqlo has different qualities than elsewhere? I hope not, but it'd be good to hear from someone who knows more (or enough to make an informed guess).

Oh, and something to contribute to the suspicion that different Uniqlo shops have different stocks is that I have a button fly (and no visible selvedge coin pocket), but there's no "Made In Japan" labelling, even though it's clear they are made in Japan because of the UJ logo.

If you have a pair of selvage Uniqlo's with a button fly and no visible coin pocket, then you got the MIJ's. Even though some of them have the small UJ tag on the inside, they're still MIJ's. You'd easily be able to tell the difference between the UJ's and MIJ's, MIJ's are MUCH stiffer.
