Saddlemans run a bit small, so I'm going to say 30 or 31, most people size up one.

I posted in the small denim question thread and figured I'd post here as well as it fits well here. I asked this question on another forum, need a legit check on these saddlemans: http://www.styleforum.net/t/325684/help-are-my-lvc-saddlemans-real#post_5943318 thanks!

I just noticed this http://i50.tinypic.com/j64ygw.jpg

Are 28's just like this, or were these tapered?

Looks like part of the selvage line has been removed to be tapered, as LVCs come with a selvage line all the way down the jean.

Yeah it does look that way, but whether or not someone did this previously before I got them or that's how certain waist sizes come i've yet to find out

All waist sizes are selvage all the way through, so alterations must have been made by the previous owner.  Although I would ask him to get a sure answer, that's just how it seems to me.

Have yet to get an answer. Hope someone else who's owned the same size pair can chime in
I gave you the answer.  The selvage line will not change depending on the waist size.  It has been altered.
