I always have a cuff, whether they're levi's or some selvedge denim... That whole 'stacking' thing looks retarded and sloppy to me.
Cuffs are dope, but only if they're done right. That is, it generally looks best to double cuff shorter inseams (i.e. 32" or 34"). It looks nice and provides a clean straighter leg effect without stacks.
That said, stacks are and will always be straight dope, but like cuffs they have to be done right. Sammies and iron hearts are meant to stack, and they look fucking beautiful when they do; I personally think it's foolish to hem those jeans.
I have a pair of Sammies and Denime's so I have jeans that I can cuff and jeans I can stack. The type of shoe is the biggest factor in cuffing for me though; moccasin-type shoes and low tops look great with stacks, and boots and nicer shoes look best with cuffs. That's just my 2 cents, though.
