"design remix"= design rips? not to hate but come on Dipt, you guys are supposed to represent what Vancouver's all about and the best you can do is a supreme and thrasher rip? i know you guys have been around since the beginning, so please design something "original" vancity can call our own. if you're going to "remix" a design, at least put some effort into it.

every kid on the block and their mom could photoshop some words around and slap it on a white tee. i know a ton of kids who would be able to rep our city's burgeoning street wear scene on a t shirt for $20 and it would be better than the stuff you guys have put out recently.

my suggestion- give the kids a chance and put out a rep your city design contest

just saying.

Thanks for the input, ideas and voicing your opinions. We actually are in the process of launching a design contest and that is a going to spawn many fresh designs I'm sure. I don't know if you know the history of the brand but it has been around since 1998 with the first logo being done by local graf legend 'Virus' and gained its most popularity with the introduction of the Vancity Original x RunDMC logo which spawned numerous Hip Hop logo remixes all which sell out every time. Basically, that is what the brands popularity was built on and by introducing other influences such as Thrasher and Supreme we thought we'd break out of the Hip Hop logos a bit. Truthfully, we will continue to give nods to brands and artists that influence us. Bottom line is that the brand is mad popular in the city and that can't be denied. The designs are just fun ways to rep our city but I do agree that more original designs by more of our local artists would be fresh. We do offer original designs in the collection and always have though. The most current original design being the dirty bird mascot tee not to mention the Olympic series and many others in the past. I respect your views and opinions and hope we can produce designs that you will feel good rockin' and reppin' Vancity. Peace.
