I'm looking for a new pair of prescription (non-tinted) glasses. Where are the best places to go, when you're looking for a more high-fashion, or at least non-lenscrafters look..? I guess I'm looking for shit that isn't ultra conventional.

Was in Josephson on Bloor yesterday, but sort of unsure about their brands.

Who's got a lock on some good spots?

Chinatown joints are cheap...and the two places I listed are authentic and give really good rates if you are serious about copping.

It helps if you speak vietnamese too.

they have a good selection of frames. A bit expensive BUT they have true vintages, not reproductions...

Pacific Mall, there are dozens of optical shops in there, if you have a model/style in mind, ask around and see which one is the cheapest, I buy my sunglasses from Good Eyes Optical (they do insurance and good prices too. Probably at Chinese places you would get the best deals on eyewear and no taxes lol, at least much cheaper than somewhere like Lenscrafters.

try advanced optical - steeles and warden (T and T plaza). i dont wear glasses by my parents have been going there for years. try frames like alan mikli or something if your looking for something a bit more high end.
