Possesion of knife in canada?

just wanna know, what would i be charged if caught with a knife?? like if im keeping one for protection or something, and a cop finds it, what charges can i be faced with??

specifically in ontario.

I think it depends on the size of the blade. I think a 2 inch blade or smaller is legal but I wouldn't be surprised if I was wrong.

not 100% positive, but i believe it depends on whether or not the knife can be opened instantly with a single hand. switchblades and ballisongs(butterfly knives) for instance are illegal.

Two 14 year old punk kids dressed G-Unit style shoplifted from my work and they had a knife on them. Cop let them go. Why? They're only 14. Bullshit law in Canada. They should've gotten more than a car ride home in a Police Car.

yeah i heard butterfly and any other ones that are concealable are illegal in "some states" from a friend of mine when i was vacationing in asia

but then again. we're not living in any of the states confused

I do know that Sikhs carry a ceremonial "kirpan" as a ceremonial symbol and that's allowed in Canada, but minors are only allowed to carry replicas.

I'm a little fuzzy on the details, but anything larger than a swiss army knife is illegal to be carried in public and those who do can be arrested for possession, which is a misdemeanor under Canadian law.

what are teh chances your skilled knife fighting skills will disengage someone with a bgger weapon, liek a baseball bat ?


Weapons usually escalate matters to the point,where the other person feels they have to use a weapon. Sell the knife take some self defence classes confidence, and knowledge, and keeping a cool head are your biggest weapons against violence.

and i beleive canadian law stipulates a blade(including handle ) no longer than 6 inches is leagl to carry.

im guessing if ur gonna get jump, im pretty sure the people will also have knifes.

Also, you probbly won't have time to react to getting ur knife, opeening it up and then trying to use it.

If you are using a weapon for "fear" you are really fucking yourself. This is real advice. As Andre said it "don't pull your thang out unless you plan to hit somethang". If you pull out a weapon and don't intend to use it, you are putting yourself in real danger. Just keep your head up kid, and have your wits about you, and you won't get jumped in Sao de Paulo, let alone Brampton.

knifes are illegal if you're under 18 years old...
carry one.
after stabbing someone, hide it (just dont keep it)..
you can get a brassknuckle if you know the right person..
but if you dont have "big figners/hands", it'll hurt (the last, small finger will hurt after punching someone)
you can still ahve a gun (but I think that you dont need it)
just watch the Chuck Noris fils/movies andyou'll be ok
