my first car was a 97 taurus SHO, It was pretty damn fun for a first car and it was a pretty damn good sleeper. But gas got too high, and i had a bit of miles on it.




I was young and did what i could myself and under my budget, but from experience no matter how custom it looks mounting a cd changer on your roof is never a good idea hahahha. Lots of backseat passengers got bloody heads around corners.

My first car was a 1991 Dodge Colt HB that I bought for $700 the summer I turned 16. It was an F'n nightmare, breaking down every week until I finally saved some cash to upgrade. I think the perfect first car, if you or your parents can afford it, is a Civic with about 60,000 miles on it. Reliable, but cheap enough that it won't make you want to kill yourself after your first spill, door ding, accident, etc...

yea yamaha built the motors for the 97-98 gen 3's. Really sucked because they had a horrible camshaft problem in a high % of them, and the camshafts from yamaha were so hard to find that the car is considered totaled if the cam failed. One of the reasons i sold mine at 99k miles.

and yamaha tried putting a 4.6L v8 into em, but ford wouldnt let them because they didnt want stock taurus's that could blow the doors off v8 mustangs.

I do miss my sho though, It could smoke the wrx i have now. But i wouldnt trade my wrx for much of anything in my price-range.

droppin up to 6k on a new whip come end of summer (peasant status)

leanin towards an impreza outback / ts (00 thru 04s seem to fit my budget) for the combination of functionality / good looks

but god knows ive always wanted a late 80s 300zx or supra

My first car was a '87 Jaguar xj6 vanden plas. Shitty to drive. Shitty to work on. Shitty gas mileage. I don't drive it anymore but I love it too much to get rid of it.&) Its still hiding in the garage and turned itself into a giant steel shelf haha

Depending on your budget, you might get done in the booty hole for that. Used BMWs usually have insanely high mileage and are sold right before the 100k miles point because at 100k theres some maintenance thing that apparently costs alot. Make sure to do research.

Yuh. I prefer EKs more aesthetically, but EGs were like the last of the Civics to be hella light and have decently-powered engines, right?


i think so. well, i'd like either actually. which would you prefer? or should i find some other beat up car and fix it up?
