why the fuck is the cop there? they've been legal now for atleast 2 years.

but i was dissapointed when no one showed up with a 34. but when i saw the pic of the cop car maybe it was a good thing that didnt happen.

in all my years of living in van i only seen ONE R-34 roaming the streets.

edit:

WTF? i just noticed. we have POLICE now? what happened to the RCMP cruisers? i never seen a police cruiser, even when i visited last month.

zyezye, I'm pretty sure 34's are still illegal due to the 15 year difference. Those cops are from West Vancouver, they drive a friggen Magnum lol.

there is only one r34 in the vancouver area. it is a blue one that one bought in japan and took apart and shipped piece by piece to the states. then from there it was shipped again to vancouver and rebuilt, the chasis was filled under a r32 to clear for insurance purposes. the first time it was scene was at the revscene spring meet 2007.

The Infiniti G35 is the US version of the Nissan Skyline but it's not the Skyline GT-R that everybody likes. You get your shit straight.

To add even more confusion, Nissan dropped the GT-R tag on the Skyline since the GT-R is now a standalone car.

See I'm glad you know that little bit but it's ultimately coming back and slapping you in the face, as that statement is just helping me.

The Skyline is the Infiniti G35. When you say Skyline, it should only be to talk about the G35 in markets outside of the US (or even in the US if you get cool JDM badges!).

The GT-R is the constantly-jacked-off-to car that is being referred to in this thread. Just 'cause "everybody likes" it doesn't mean shit. I'm sure (actually I know) it's just common to call the GT-R a Skyline here in the US, but for someone who actually knows what the fuck a Skyline is, it's pretty fuckin' annoying seeing this shit.

Basically you're saying to me that since "everybody likes" it here, it's okay to look like a dipshit to the rest of the world. Actually I think this can be said about a lot of things in America.

I don't usually call people out but in this case you're looking like a complete fucktard by calling other people out when you're in fact wrong, so I will.
All GTR's from the R32 to the R34 are Skylines.
Nissan only dropped the Skyline affiliation with the most recent GTR release due to the massive differences between the 350GT and the GTR, unlike the BNR series which shared the same base between GTR's, GTS-t's, GTS's, GT4's and GT-T's. Just because it's outside your sphere of understanding doesn't mean there weren't skylines prior to the V35 (or if you like it better, the G35 Infinity)
Assuming you live in North America I'll give you the benefit of a doubt because you've probably never personally layed eyes one a GTR before, but if you do happen to see one go up to the rear of it and note the word SKYLINE molded into the boot. In fact, on the newer RB26's the plug cover even says SKYLINE GTR.
Everycar (sans integra) in those pics is a Skyline, GTR or not. What does it matter what the current model is referred to in the States? All those cars have come from Japan and hence are Skylines, from what I can see, a mix of GTR's and GTS-t's.
Maybe next time you decide to call someone out on something make sure you're right.

and I paraphrase: get your shit straight, cos you're looking like a fucking idiot

Have a nice day

lol. of course I know what 'just a Skyline' is. Perhaps refer to my post and note that I'm completely aware of the non GTR's models. I've been up to Japan and I can easily say they are a more common sight on the streets of Australia than in Japan. They are everywhere. And cheap as hell, even the V35. We have a the old 70's and early 80's relics around the place as well. You obviously have no idea how common they are here.
I know the Japanese have strange interpretations and obsessions of such things - everything is about the current model. Do the older, and relevant models to this thread, no longer count? Idiot. You being Japanese means little. Remember, I live in Australia - there are plenty of you here, not all so bright either, so you'll have to come up with a better point than that. Shit, I could tell you Kangaroos lay eggs but just because I'm Australian doesn't make it true.
Perhaps you should go back in the thread and note that note that not all the cars pictured were GTR's either (this isn't a conclusion I've come to because some don't have badges). I guess you don't refer to Pulsar GTi-R's as Pulsars either?
It just seems you have your own interpretation of What a GTR should be referred to as - doesn't mean you're right. If Nissan are happy to refer to these cars as Skyline GTR's, so am I.
Oh, and it's you who doesn't know what paraphrasing is. I wasn't summarising my post but loosely restating an earlier line you posted - hence paraphrasing it. Stick to Nihongo mate

ok, obviously we are on very different pages.
One things I will state that is even a number of Japanese exp-pats I know now living here still refer to them as just Skylines. No GTR on the end. However, I get the feeling it may be due to the fact the other models aren't even worth a mention, hence any mention of a Skyline automatically assumes a GTR. There's been a couple of times when Skylines have been discussed and I asked what model (ie GTS etc) they were refering to, only to be met with blank looks and then the old 'GTR of course'.
Anyway, I think the people refering to the pics weren't incorrect in calling them Skylines in a plural sense, as there are more than just GTR's in the pics.
In anycase, apology accepted and another back to you.

Wow. Very confusing. Let's see if this can be cleared up.

The current skyline is sold under the Nissan nameplate in Japan and I believe in some other Asian markets.

The Infiniti nameplate is the luxury division of Nissan, much like Acura to Honda and Lexus to Toyota. Infiniti is not sold in Japan, although that might change in the future. As of now everything you see in the Infiniti line-up is sold under the Nissan name in Japan.

The current Skyline is sold worldwide under the G35 name, which has since changed to G37.

The current generation of the Skyline no longer carries the GT-R name. The GT-R is now an entirely separate car. The two cars have very little in common other than both being by the same manufacturer. The GT-R is built on a bespoke chassis whereas the current Skyline is built on the same platform as the Nissan 350Z (called the Fairlady in Japan).

Please confine e-sex to PMs. Thank you. cool
