I'm getting rid of my GTI this summer for something roomier and nicer. I've been look at a lot of mid 2000 Range Rover HSE's but I've heard so many mixed reviews...anyone have any other recommendations? Thanks in advance. cool

Stay away from range rover's especially older ones, they're mechanical nightmares. Really depends on what your budget i, if money is no object I'd cop an X7 or Rover LR4 in a heart beat.

You don't want to own a Range Rover outside of the warranty period. Trust me, I've been there...

As you are looking for some mid size luxury SUV’s, I would recommend you to have a look at these vehicle, I found them as per your requirements and these are
Range Rover Sport
Porsche Cayenne
Lincoln MKX and
Audi Q7
However, you could check out several Auto parts store for some other vehicles as well
