Honda (accord, civic etc), toyotas, nissans for reliability. or you can do some research find a car you like craigslist, classified, autotrader it and ask the seller if you can get it inspected. If everything checks out then buy it and cross your fingers.

Is it because hondas can easily break 200k on the odometer, or is it because the 3000 gt cant be modded that much? TBH the 98 prelude was a very hard find for me and if i lowball I could get it for 5k. The 3000 gt is listed for 4400 and if lowballed prolly around 4k for it.

Sorry kinda new to cars.

A Honda motor will last much longer than the Mitsu, not to mention the practicality of the whole thing, since you state you are new to cars you do not want to deal with the day to day repairs maintenance that is required of that 3000gt Ask any DSM owner, you will spend as much time working to get it back on the road than you will actually driving it.

Thanks for the input. However there's a high chance of me not getting the prelude since the guy said he wont take anything under 5k and I currently have 4k. That being said what car can I get within the 4k range? And i found a green 3000 with 120k on odo.

Honda civic hatch ek- 140k
91 Mr2 non turbo with 180k on odo sad
or 3000gt?

civic coupes and integras are easily stolen where i live. oh and please include insurance costs and gas in reason.

i kinda regretted not sticking with my 1st car longer and saving more money for something even better than what i got
so my advice would be buy something cheapo and hold that

i can't really offer anything else since prices are variable between us & canada, and I'm super biased against fwd cars
but you've only mentioned japanese cars so I'll mention, mk3 supra, s13 240sx, and hell volkswagens. all popular as "starter" cars
