I have a 08 mini cooper. Im completely oblivious to cars and parts, but i really want to get into it. What could I do to my car to make it faster/ better in general?

exhaust, ecu tuning, air filters, and cold air intakes are the cheapest ways to get more power from the engines. as far as a mini goes, it will be hard to put that power via the front wheels though.

if it's a cooper s, there's a bunch of stuff you can do, i'd start with an ecu reflash

if it's regular one, don't bother

If its cooper S then you could get 15-25 HP by remapping your ECU(the computer that manages your car). It cost 325-550 in my area.

Its a probably the best thing you could do with your car in terms of Performance/Price.

my friend has an 02 cooper, not an s. he just installed new suspension, sway bar, and a cold air intake and he continues to love the thing. its a pretty fast car with a good amount of potential. if you go stage 2 with upgrades youd be suprised how munch faster your car would be.

i'd only bother working on suspension making it more enjoyable, but there's no point in trying to make horsepower gains on such a small naturally aspirated engine

Get them coilovers and just do some autoX, should be fun. Seen a lot of Mini's at the local autocross events.

Why do you drive a mini? There are cars that are miles better for around the same price.
