I wouldn't say buying an Audi is different, I see just as many Audis around as I do Bimmers

E90 is a couple years older then the b8 so obviously theirs gonna be more cars. It also keeps winning car of the year so more people will buy them as well.

I actually see a lot of people (males and females) driving the e90 330/325i's most likely because theyre dirt cheap and for the reason in bold.

There are definitely more chicks in e90s compared to say a Civic SI or STI but that doesn't really mean anything. Its a good cars, the looks are suspect but its a solid car nonetheless.

not saying they're not good cars, i even like how they look with an m package. i just hate how that's all i ever see around here, even more than b7s and b8s combined.

i read this in an issue of MT a while back and i recall it said Audi discontinued the 3.2L because even the top of the line quattro couldn't compete with the new BMW's in terms of overall performance. the 2.0t will be competing directly with the 328i's, but it obviously lags behind the g37, is350 as well as the new 335i's in those departments and thats where the S4 comes in

if you're comparing the old 3.2L with the new 2.0T, then the new one because it has an updated engine. more torque and about the same weight with way better aerodynamics and dimensions. but ive only driven the new audi, so im just going by the specs. that turbo engine sound though...

Just looked at the specs of the new A4. They're actually not that bad. they have a decent amount of torque. When I had mine the best thing about it was the four wheel drive (I drive up to Tahoe sometimes). Also thanks for the clarification Phreak on the 3.2L. The car has a pretty good price too compared to getting a 328xi coupe. Even better with the discount he got.

the 3.2 was dropped because the 2.0 produced more torque and was cheaper to produce so it was rendered obsolete.

Glad to hear you picked the A4! I bought my A3 quattro (same 2.0T engine) couple months back and found out the other day that two of my co-workers, both broads btw, bought the 3 series. What are the odds?! So yeah, the Audi definitely is more of an exclusive community whereas bimmers are seen around every corner you drive with a soccer mom at the wheel. Show some pics and lower it!

I really don't understand how Audi's are more exclusive? Just because you may not see them as much doesn't mean they're exclusive. It's not like I couldn't go to the dealer right now and find one that would be reasonable equipped in a color I liked etc. Don't get me wrong I love them and had one. Seriously though they're not that uncommon. There are more Audis at my school than BMW's. Go to Michigan where my friend is going to college and they're everywhere due to their 4 wheel drive. Not to mention the BMW 328xi coupe costs more than the Audi A4 2.0T which I'm sure would factor into a lot of peoples pickings.

You drive a station wagon and Stop saying Audis are more exclusive their not, BMWs are just noticed more cause their of a higher status and more respected so obviously you will notice them more. And your making it seem like only soccer moms drive 3 series....Stop trying to insult a good car and make your car out to be something its not.


The car has to be better and more expensive to be considered exclusive. The fact that more people will spend more money to get a 3 series does not make the Audi exclusive. It means you have an inferior product, that people pass on. It makes you 3rd best.

No hate, but thats the way it is. If you love your car then fine but don't try to validate your selection but bringing down other products.
