I was 17 when I got my permit took me 3 times for the written part

For the driving part took me 2 times because I was nervous I did not practice a lot I was 18.

Got it at 18.. you can't get it earlier in Germany. Needed 20 hours of practice, passed the test in my first try. Almost failed the Autobahn part of the test... was so nervous, that I forgot to switch to the 5th gear. At 100mph it was noisy in the car, so the examiner was trying to give me a hint there.. "man, it's noisy in here, strange... don't you think it is UNUSUALLY noisy in here, too??" ... super clever me replied "yes, i think it's the car, Skoda sucks".

How much is the license in the US? Avg. price here is about 1500$ +-200 if you need fewer practice hours.

Does anybody know if California dmv would recognize a Washington state permit or a drivers ed certificate? I've had the permit for 6 months, the practice hours, e.t.c. and I'm ready to get a California license.

Damn I look like a retard.
18 permit. Never really read the book since my brother's friend failed his written test 14 times and had 14 failed copies with the correct answers. Skimmed, passed.
2 (3confused weeks later took test with 10 hrs practice, failed. Second time after 2 weeks (5 hrs practice) failed.. 3rd time I passed. It's so sad..
Never crashed though! :D

Took my permit test at 15, waited a year 'cause I was lazy (mind you, I barely practiced), took the test a few days before my permit expired and failed; I didn't see the sign that showed the lane ending and didn't check my blind spot and automatically failed. I'm taking it again during winter vacation. Eff a critical error. razz

Got my actual license at 16. If i got one more thing wrong in my road test, i woulda failed.

If you live in CA you must have a California License but if your visiting then Washington is ok.

19 years old. In holland you can start your driving lessons at age 18. Since I didn't have the money om my 18th birthday I started 2 months before my 19th birthday. Had 25 hours of practice and passed my driving test the first time.

16 years old. Good times. I hate the DMV though, they suck ass. They rescheduled my appointment 2 times cus of "scheduling conflicts". Oh well, at least I got it though. haha.

yeah, ca dmv sucks ass. my friend had to drive from phoenix,az to blythe, ca just to renew his license and pay fees. they couldn't do it online for some reason. the az dmv however, is awesome, you take the driving test and if you pass, they take a picture, and print out your license on the spot. and i don't have to renew my license until 2053.

16 for the written and then I guess 17 actual driving part (I think that's the law right? ). Passed both on first try, it really is too easy to be honest. You think they would make it harder considering the accident rate among young drivers, but whatever.
