AP1 or AP2?

I'm thinking of copping an s2k, but don't know which one to cop. This is gonna probably be a daily driver, so would this be a burden?

lul s2k. as long as you're under 6'0 and dont need anything in the trunk. I've heard ap2s are better for dd but ap1s are beast. idkkkkkkkk.

also, i was thinking about getting a g35 coupe, or a g37 coupe. or possibly an e46 m3? my limit on a car is around 12k (not including $$ to make any changes to the car)

your limit is $12k and you're thinking about e46 m3's, g35/37's, and ap2's? you'd be lucky to get a decent ap1 at that price, look for those and e36 m3's

btw are you sure you could live with a 2 seater w/ limited trunk space?

btw, i can find some decent s2ks and g35s over here for 12k+. but with like 80k+ miles on them

you can find decent ap1 s2k's but not ap2 for 12k. g35 coupes are tough to find without high miles, in which case i would stay away from, especially with the transmission issues the 03/04's had

just kidding, the ap2s around here are like 14k+ and 14k would have tons of miles on them, or has something wrong with it.

but anyways, im gonna have about 15k by the end of this year for a newer car. any ideas on what to get for a daily driver? i'm tired of my accord already smh

get an ap1 (higher redline) it'll be cheaper than ap2, plus if you only got $12k, stay away from an m3 unless u gotta extra cash for the maintenance

create a thread with how many seats/doors, transmission, and priorities (how important gas mileage is vs power, handling, etc) and i'm sure one of us can help you out with a car

If you're gonna get an S2000 you better be okay with the limited space it has. I drive an AP2 and I can't even fit my laundry basket in my trunk.

I like the looks of the AP2 much better. It may have a lower redline but it has more torque than the AP1.

I had an Ap2 for a few months. Loved it.

Ap2 but if you want a 2 seater i say just get a 350z or 370z but if you want power and room just get a G35 or G37

I had an AP2 for 3 years and I loved it. Decent gas mileage @ 26-27 mixed, low maint costs.

However, I'm 6"2 and while leg room was not a problem, getting in an out became tiresome, also the cup holders fucking suck, if you can even call them that. Basically anything over can of soda in width and height WILL spill when you brake hard or turn aggressively. I ended up with coffee more than once on my dash and windshield.

Lastly, the car did not age well. Looks wise its still a beauty, but performance wise its aged bad. When I saw the video of a JDM Civic SEDAN Type-R beating a JDM AP2 on the track I lost it.
Also the car was just too uncivilized, bumpy, loud, in the summer heat would just transfer into the cabin so quick.

AP1, AP2's are for pussies because they can't handle the high rev.

Get get an AP1, clear the turn signal lights on the headlights, get an ap2 front bumper, coils and you're good!

In my opinion, I would get an AP1. If you were to get an AP1, get an 03 because it comes with a glass top. Best of all you get 9k REVS! In a stock for stock race, AP1 will slowly pull away from the AP2, just sayin..

Just because you can take it to 9K doesn't mean you should. Why is it that when people see the 9K rev limit they instantly think it has more power? Your probably dropping off more power than you think at that high. And "imlikethat" you made the right choice i-Vtec > Vtec. Plus there is a reason S2k's are starting to do K Series swaps... A F20 is only good when boosted that best thing about the S2k is the frame design...
