2001 infiniti or a 2001 audi? Uh, honestly Lexus and Infiniti didnt start stepping their game up until the last few years, so overall the Audi would probably be better.

But then maintenaince and just overall dependability the Infiniti might be a better bet. So its really a toss up, why not just save up get a diff car? i'm looking at 04-05 infiniti g35's only like 12-13k.

If its between the S4 and a G20, I'd go with the s4 for obvious reasons.

But the G20>A4 simply because of parts acces. and cost.

An Audi mechanic told me the other day "If you dont have $2,000 to drop on your s4 at any time, then look for another car."

Keep that in mind and good luck

Here's the break down

To make an S4 a 10 sec street car it will cost you 25,000

To make an A4 a 10 sec street car it will cost you 10,000

Just so you can get a feel for price differences between the two.

Ya you'll drop a lot if something goes wrong with the engine. If you do it yourself and know where to get parts. Its actually cheaper to fix your Audi than a Nissan haha.

My A4 same body as yours gets me about 24mpg city and 30-34mpg highway.

Dunno about the G20. But the G20 is a fwd car. If you're going to buy an Audi please get a quattro. Great all around use. More utility. Nicer interior, but you will be running premium gas.
