Older luxury car with more feature or newer stock econobox?

Hey guys,

So as the thread stated, I am in sort of a dilemma and need some help deciding what to do.

if you had a choice, pick one:

1. BRAND NEW econocar (honda, toytoa etc ) v6, easy to maintain, standard equipment ~$22-$26k

2. OLDER luxury car (2007 328i for example) v6, fully loaded power everything with navi (maybe not xenons, bluetooth etc), almost 50k miles, certified preowned- 6 years, 100k mile warranty. costs more to maintain, premium gas, expensive parts ~$22-$26k

I would love a luxury car, but it will ofcourse cost more to maintain. The economy car will hold up longer, but wont be nearly as fun as say a bmw or something. What would you guys choose in this situation. thanks

I have a 2001 honda accord right now that i'm getting rid of so anything will better.

The new V6 accourd coupe is nice. I think I'd take one of those over an older luxury. But damn these newer V6 sedans are becoming faster so I would think they are fun to drive.

If you're trying to have fun def 2.

At the end of the day I'd get 2.

go test drive a mazdaspeed3. its hard to stop smiling, they are a blast. they come with alot of great options, and you dont have to worry about the high maintenance of the luxury segment.

test drive a bunch of cars you think you would like. then you can decide on what you like best.

cant argue with that. if your gonna go used(in that price range) its hard to beat a fourth gen g35/37.

Yep...i spent months doin research on the g35 because i wanted one so bad so just some key pointers

-05 6 spd(aka REV up motor) have oil consumption issues which depending on your dealer can be a pain ass to replace
-Only 03-04 Sport Packages came with Brembo brakes(if that matters to you)
-06+ was redesigned inside and outside. Also has memory seats, projector headlights, better engine design, and bluetooth
-05 had the interior somewhat upgraded but not as great as 06+
-Wheel bearings tend to have issues but it is a cheap fix at dealer
-The rear camber tends to eat up tires fast so invest in a rear camber kit SPC seems to be popular...

thanks, i'll def keep that in mind. How many miles are gonna be on it. I am leaning towards a certified preowned bmw, since they are under warranty for 6 years/100,000 miles. Thats is pretty hard to beat, is it not?

Buying New cars is a chump move if your not a trillionaire

used is the way to go

in a year your new ecocar will be used

in a year your used lux car will be used
