my step dad is pro at stuff like this, i would have his help and he knows all of that. s2000 is the only rear wheel drive honda right?

so far i think theres only one ek with a fwd f20 swap. it has an adapter running a K tranny but most everything is custom. best bet for you is to look into a K series. even if your dad is a pro its a waste of money
Feb 23, 2010 @ 19:11
The Nsx and S2K are the only RWD honda's. As far as a K Series swap you might wanna be careful what your getting yourself into. They are very delicate motors. The K20a3 is the worst of the models. The K20a2(6 Spd tranny) is good if you plan on going boost however they have very touchy tranny's that require good shifting. The K20A(comes with LSD) is a solid motor but horrible if you plan on boosting. If you can find a K24 bottom end though and put the K20a2 head on it then you have yourself a serious K motor. But it requires alot of money to just part both of the motors together and then you have to look at all the extra parts you need just to drop it into a chasis that isn't a FG/DC5/EP chasis. Good luck with whatever you decide to do though cuz its not going to be cheap. Your going to need more than just your basic swap requires to get it running right and safe in your car...

Its clean and it does have a nice price on it. My only complaint would be if you do plan on doing anything you have to get custom parts. Im not a fan of the B20's personally i mean torque wise they are nice, but unless you put a B16 head on there its not really that great of a motor. Its a good starting project if thats what your looking for though, i would invest in a good suspension first with the money you have left over...

Feb 24, 2010 @ 19:45
thanks THiZZ. i told the guy i wanted to get into hondas and he said he has parts for it (B16 head was one of them)
Feb 24, 2010 @ 19:54
Okay now here comes the hard part your going to need a shop that is good at matching the head with the block. I would suggest doing a full rebuild as well. That means pistons, rings, valves, retainers. You can probably get all those for under 1K easy. Also there is not specific ECU to run for this as well so your going to need it to be tuned and have it tuned properly since this is a frakenstien swap and it is not an original motor hence the ecu tuning and whatnot. If you take your time and do it right the motor will last you a long time. It just depends on which route you wanna go with the car and the money/patience you have to do things right. And since your bakersfield i just gotta ask are you by chance going to Eibach in may???

where is it at?

if i get this i might just keep the head for awhile seprate til i can get a shop to put pistons and all that in it, instead of getting just the head put on, but theres a strong chance i might just wait awhile til i can find a good to go ek or something
Feb 24, 2010 @ 20:13

EK's are nice, but yea if you did decide to pick it up seems like you already got a good idea of what you want to do with it. I'll be at Eibach along with a couple of others from Vegas. Gonna bring out my DC5 and show off my progess. Still looking/buying parts though...
