The new WRXs are hideous get a 06-07 sti their cheaper and better looking,and come on now if you have 15g to drop straight up for a down payment you can afford to fix a older sti that was driven hard so stressin on that should be minimal.

ive been doing a lot of reading about the car and it seems they are quite capable of handling the abuse. thats definitely an avenue ill look at when im ready to purchase. if i find an 06 with low miles then ill very likely jump on it. but i really like the new hatchback so i dont know.

the hatchback is hideous. but yes im also considering a new raliart or a used gsr. since expanding my used car horizons im also considering g35 and 350z. i may even drive my mazda 3 a couple more years and get a 135i. the more i look into it the more i just confuse myself. haha

taking that logic into account, i should wait for the 2011 to come out and get the 2010 because its cheaper.

thanks for the link, i signed up and found some very useful info.

one thing i find funny though, mazdaspeed3 owners envy the wrx/sti and wrx/sti owners envy the 350/370 z.

at this rate im probably gonna end up with a used g37. lol

Anyways before you were flaming me........I suggest you wait for the 2011 WRX/STI because you might be shooting yourself in the foot and regret not waiting. If you're not a patient person and don't want to wait, get a 08/09 sti which is cheaper and identical to the 10 sti (only difference is stitching on the steering wheel and seats) or get the 10 sti if you will.

I left out the 08 wrx because it has a smaller turbo but all up to you. Get a 09/10 wrx or like I suggested wait for the 11 wrx. I have a 07 wrx and love it; I like the hawkeye design best.

P.S. Money seems like no object to you so get a sti (bulletproof 6 speed transmission, brembo brakes, bigger turbo and intercooler) and you wouldn't look back. Most wrx owners wish they had a sti or try to make their wrx's into sti's, so do it right the first time.

The Mazdaspeed 6 has an inline-4, as does the S2000. The WRX has a flat-4.

The Mazdaspeed 6 has more horsepower than all of them. The WRX engine is slightly bigger than the others.

but the mazdaspeed3 is a better car then the mazdaspeed6. they have the same engine but the 3 is lighter. the only advantage the 6 had was all wheel drive. they stopped making the 6 in 07 which would be too old for my liking.

If I had your money though, I'd be looking to Germany aka Bavarian Motorworks. Don't get a 1 series though.

Consider the RX-8? Every time I see a nice black one on the road I melt.

i drive an 04 MZD3 s now, but i agree i do not want another front wheel drive car. i test drove a 2010 mazdaspeed 3 yesterday and the oversteer when the turbo kicked in turned me off. considering that i could have walked out the door with for 22.9k with the tech package i almost took it home.

i definite threw the 1 series out the window. my hoping for more m type performance was way off. test drove one of those yesterday too.

my subaru dealer hasnt gotten any wrx in yet but i did test drive the legacy 2.5gt. i was very surprised by how much i really enjoyed it and am seriously considering it.

i have driven an rx-8 an exgirlfriend had/has one. i completely agree with you, its a panty melting super sexy ride. it cuts through traffic like a hot knife in butter. but its too costly to maintain and repair the rotary engine. and it just doesnt have the power other cars in its class provide.

the car after my next car will probably be a bimmer. maybe a 6 series but who knows what they will have out by then. so ive just taken them off the table for now.

today im going to mitsubishi to test drive an evo mr.

I test drove an 05 and fell in love with the car... only thing that kept me from buying it was it was auto but definitely a nice solid car performance and luxury wise...

out of those 2, get the mazda IMO. But, having like 300 horses i think? on a FWD is kinda...not good in that its easy to lose control i think?

awesome cars. My dad has one and it's like a classy wrx imo. The top gear dudes loved it too ^_^

i forgot about this thread. my plans were foiled by a looming lay off, since november. thankfully i saw the writing on the wall and put off getting a new car. today, i was laid of and not having a car note is an amazing thing at this time.
