Get there early (real early) enough monday & you might get a pair, $1999. I dare say they'l go sharpish when the resellers bring along 5 friends to each buy a pair. Otherwise look around Mongkok, Mr.SK in TST maybe & a resell shop in causeway bay plaza (about the 3rd level). Expect them to clear your wallet out though. Happy hunting.

The first page of the 'shopping guide' thread has a list of stores that will help you out, but off the top of my head - try 'trendy zone' (Nathen Rd) in MongKok and Mr.Sk (Hillwood Rd) in TST.

^ As i say its only a guess! So don't quote me on that..... But given that the first release was the first Monday of the month i would imagine it will be the same for the next two.

Dude if your not over 40 I'm not accepting that excuse!! Shame though coz I'm confident under my guidance 5-a-side 'team HB' could become the best in HK Hahahaha!!

fuck that, shutting down sneaker street?

my heart just broke, seriously smh
June 10, 2009 @ 21:19:51
The area is pretty run down lets be honest. Weather or not that scale of development is needed i dunno. But thats HK innit, constantly (re) developing.
June 11, 2009 @ 02:14:38
You can condense sneaker street into just a handful of stores... cause they're all owned by the same people and have the same stock anyways.

It's iconic but it's not that great for sneakers in general. All major releases go to stuff like Exit/Juice/NSW store etc anyways.

Your local park / hard court sports ground. Like the one in Wan Chai (forget the name), but places like that always have games going on.

Whats your standard?
June 25, 2009 @ 04:12:48
i play a couple times a week on turf. i haven't played on concrete in yrs. fitness-wise i'm ok but i dunno if i can play full field anymore (and it's not like i'm used to playing real matches anyway..)

i think i know that place you're referring to, never played there before..

Theres always games going on concrete pitches and they're all over too, Wan Chai being the one that stood out to me. The grass pitches in HK can be a bit crappy to be honest - as u can imagine with the climate, like playing on a fu*king car park sometimes! Kings park in Jordan has good artificial pitches, 3rd generation kind so you'l get away with moulded boots there. I get to play at HKFC's ground next year, that should be decent blushing

i normally play with the Nike5 TF short studs models, or the IC indoors. i was interested to find out if there were places that welcome pick up games (in case i'm in town), it's been yrs since i've played in hk, concrete or turf. from what i've heard from my friends they normally gather enough people for starting a game before they go, and that's how it was for me as well when i was younger. and turf fields are not really for pick-up matches as they're all rentals only?
