Hi

I'm heading to Kyoto for the holidays and was wondering what type streetwear shops do they have around there? What about sneakers? Maybe some good consignment stuff? I'm looking to buy just a few items and am trying to find out if a trip to Tokyo is nessessary during my three week stay.

A day trip to tokyo is definitely recommended during your three week stay. kyoto has a fair amount of streetwear shops (APE, F.I.L, etc), but tokyo is definitely the best place to hit up if you want to shop...

kyoto does not own many street shops.. take a subway and go to osaka.. it's an hour. they are close. if you're still in japan

Osaka is probably best
Kyoto is very much a old fashioned sight seeing area.
I agree with the earlier posts.
If you want street brands, you should try to go to Harajuku in Tokyo, or at least Amerika Mura, Osaka.

There's some around Teramachi. North face just opened a shop there. Levi. Stussy. Plenty of Japanese shops too with brands. Worth checking out.
