drilled into the wall son and dropped power cord below into the in wall surge protector

Liking your house a lot. But what do you mean by that? You put the power cord in the wall? Just letting you know that's a huge fire hazard and insurance isn't covered by that.

Sometimes sacrifices must be made for the awesomeness. I'm totally gonna bite that idea. Fish the wires through the wall. People do it with speaker wire all the time. Why not visual cables? I say green light go.

Nah man, don't do that.. There's other alternatives. The reason why you can't do that with the power cables because of the high voltage, it can have possible sparks from cuts or who knows what. If the cables ever get a cut somewhere it can possibly spark and lead to a fire. I have my TV mounted and instead of getting an electrician to put a new outlet behind the TV, which might have cost a few hundred, i went ahead and bought a kit i did at home myself.

Get one of these. www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001PB7UVA

Install it yourself easily, they even have a video of the installation. All you gotta do is make 2 holes and it allows your power outlet to be right behind the tv and also lead your wires from the back of the tv to the bottom of the stand. Honestly i don't want to see anyone losing their house over something like this. $50 is worth it to be safe.

I set up 2 of the rooms in my house like this and it's very easy. I fished the speaker wires through the walls but not the power cables, thought i could have done it like that too but i looked online and it's not the best idea.

no no, didnt make it clear.. i have an external surge protector wiring that is behind the wall and the plug goes into that (the surge protector wiring is what's actually in the wall, not the actual tv AC plug -- that wouldnt be smart as you mentioned).

only the HDMI cables actually feed into the wall

Ohh alright, glad you knew. Just didn't want you to have to suffer a fire because of that, especially in such a nice place. But yea that's pretty much what i have but not as fancy as your surge protector. I have the same mount too, monoprice?

Alexlude -- Great spot. Love the soft green couch and pillows. Gives it a nice youthful feel.

Only thing I'm not feeling is the mirrored circles above the white leather couch. Not enough of a personal feel and maybe a bit too store-bought for my tastes.

Overall, really like the feel.
