7D or 550D (T2i)? I know that the T2i is mad cheap, and very comparable to the 7D, but since I shoot skating I would love to 8FPS...I'm so lost sad

the 7D has much better AI Servo ( tracking af ) then the 550D, but 550D should do a decent job with a USM lense

What about the 40D or 50D ?

you mean film? if you want the latest leica for the money from a 7D, you're probably looking at an M6... lenses, on the other hand, are a different story razz

I just got a 50mm Nikkor f1.8 and when I take really low light/dark pictures they come out noisy. I set my iso at 2-400 knowing that it'll be grainier at a higher ISO. What can I do to improve my photos? I shoot with a D50.

I'm probably just paranoid right now but.. i bought my dad a canon rebel t1i for Christmas and left it in my closet (which is cold 20-30 F)for about a week in the delivery box and everything. I don't want to open it all and check, could anything have happened to it? Thanks!

Tamron 17-50 F 2.8 VC or Nikon 17-55mm 2.8G ED-IF AF-S DX

Price isnt really an issue. the Nikkor is pretty dated, the Tamron is pretty new. I've heard mixed reviews on the Tamron. I need fast auto-focus especially in low light. Any input?

Check the warranty if you haven't already. If that does nothing upgrade to the SB800.

I bought a used Nikon 50mm f/1.8, every once in awhile after taking a few shots the lens starts to get really squeaky when focusing and even more when I take the picture. Is this something worth checking out? Also the seller said that the lens had a few not very noticeable dead pixels, but I always thought that dead pixels happened inside the camera. Can someone explain that to me?

I cant stand the build quality on tamron, feels junky to me. I was gonna go with the nikkor 17-55 2.8, but opted to get the 14-24 instead. 17-55 is a solid pro grade lens, the only drawback, and what personally made me go for something else was its for DX only. I cant see paying that much for a DX lens, unless you plan on staying DX for a long while or just got guap...

Well I mean the deal is I can get one from a shop that trained 4 employees with it. It was used like 20 times and its mint. I can cop for 950 and they go for over a grand well used so even if I upgraded my body in the future I should still be able to get about what I'm paying if not more when the time comes. Unless they release a new model, but I havent heard shit about that.

And I feel you on the shitty Tamron build quality, the Nikkor just feels like quality, amazing piece.

Might have condensation build up. Especially if you brought it somewhere warm right after that cold. This happens with my lenses when i take them out with me to shoot in cold weather and then head inside. With electronics, I just stick them in a tub/large bowl of uncooked rice as it supposedly takes out all the moisture. Seems to have worked so far, and my equipment still works.
Friends have dropped their phones in water and after maybe a night in the tube, everything's up and working again.

get a tripod for still shoot. If you shooting things that moves, then you just have to live the the high iso noise ( maybe get a flash ) or you can upgrade you camera body.

oh, you can do some noise reduction in like lightroom or photoshop.
