Yeah man using the view finder at night can be a hassle. Especially if you shoot in aperture priority and the meter gives you a slow shutter speed. And thanks!

Don't get it, waste of money. I mean dont get me wrong, its a versitile lens and all nikon lenses are of good quality. But this lens suffers from barrel distortion and its not much better quality then the kit lens. Try to get a zoom with a constant apeture of 2.8.

I'm not sure if anybody answered your question yet, but yes, it will work. They are both 49mm.

Depending on your budget and how much you know about photography. I have the t1i and that was the first camera i got. Depending on what you like, you might not even want to go dSLR (But i would recommend that you do). I got the t1i kit and then a 70-300 is usm lens, which i regret a little, I should have got something more midrange because I don't really shoot that far away.
enough blabbering. the camera you purchase would depend on your budget and your purpose.

I just saw this now. Im currently using my Remington shaver carrying case for it haha. It fits perfectly with the 20mm.

is portability an issue for you?? If not, I'd say go for the D40...in my opinion I still think a compact doesn't quite measure up to an actual dslr yet.

I actually have a s90 and a d40...and I haven't been able to get comparable shots yet. But then again, I haven't had the s90 for that long, so I'm not really used to all it's functions either.

best buy for the money? Need help choosing a prime lens. I'm thinking about going something similar to the Sigma 30mm 1.4, the Canon 28mm 1.8, although i'd highly prefer something way cheaper.

theres no tutorial for photography lol you can do some reading on general rules of composition and u should get a d40, it's a beginners camera and a point and shoot won't do you any good.

i currently shoot with only a 35mm 1.8, i want another prime lens with a little more zoom to do some more detailed product shots. would a 50mm 1.8 be a huge difference? i just don't want to spend the money if it's going to be basically the same thing.
