Anyone have a Micro 4/3 camera like an Olympus Pen? I'm thinking of getting a good camera but don't want to be carrying around a DSLR. Although 4/3 cameras are quite expensive is it worth getting one?

sure. if you want small, lightweight, quiet, and have the ability to swamp lenses,

micro four thirds cameras could fit your style.

^for ultra wide angles go for the canon 10-22mm
or the tokina 10-17mm if u want the fisheye effect

for normal wide angle zooms try the canon 17-55mm f2.8
the tamron 17-50 f2.8
or the sigma 18-50 f2.8

hey guise, actually back with my wide angle dilemma with the Tamron 17-50 2.8 vs the Sigma 17-70 2.8

bear with me sad

did even more research that's driving me crazy. here are the apparent pros and cons between the two.

Tamron 17-50 2.8
Pros:
Sharp, great contrast
fixed 2.8
apparent widest angle of view
controlled color fringing
Cons:
***AF hunts
reports off AF being consistently off
build could be better
loud, chirps

Sigma 17-70 2.8
Pros:
*macro
great build
nice image quality
nice range
fast
Cons:
*not constant f/2.8 (only at 17 apparently)
very loud focusing
zoom creep

what do you guys think? my b for bugging so much about this, i just want to spend my money wisely.

srsly bro, just cop the tamron. u just started photography ur not gonna notice the cons on the tamron. i dont get why its so hard for u. the sigma is basically the kit lens with around 15mm more reach.

whats your style? if your shooting in low light situations buy the tamron. if your shooting macro or using a tripod, go with the siggy

get the brand that will give you the lenses that you want and will aid you in your photography.

i'm with nikon, but if i could ever switch i'd def go w/ canon. love their lenses; 50 1.2, 85 1.2, 28 1.8

50mm is the focal length

1.8 is the apeture.

Use google/wiki to find out what those are. This is a huge thread and reading it will give you a lot of useful information.
