Photo shoot tips?

any tips for a photo shoot? I've never done one before. never done portraits either...only snapshots i guess or still life...or life i guess.

know what you want - and know how to communicate that to the subject before you get there. be ready to experiment.

if you're technically sound - it's just communication really.

yeah just know what kind of pictures you are looking for going into it.
otherwise you will keep shooting forever. if you know what you're looking for you'll know when you get it.
and as shank said, play music.

know how to communicate. i also recommend that if you are shooting somebody you don't know, get to know them and talk a bit before shooting.

Hopefully you know how to use a camera, also think about the lighting.

+1 on the music. just try to make them as comfortable as you can i guess. and know beforehand how to control your lighting/ camera. ask them to bring examples of photos they like too.

thank you guys. I love HB. The girl actually wants street style fashion photos of herself. she has sent some examples as well. you guys are great. I can't really play music out in the street though but good lookin out.

Definitely communicate with the model before and during the shoot. Stay cool, they feed off of you.
