Hey,
it depends on what kind of camera you want. I'm assuming you'll be shooting digital. What I suggest is to go into a camera shop and pick up a couple cameras/see how they feel before you decide on a brand. I shoot Nikon because I like the feel of the camera specifically. Depends on how much you want to spend and whether you want interchangeable lenses too.

Appreciate that Ill definitely take all that into account too. I actually do get a chance to pick cameras up and test out how they feel and things like that. Right now I think I really like the Sony Alpha-Nex cameras, but Im going to continue to look around
