So for school I have to write a fairly long research paper on a famous photographer. Anyone have recommendations? Any form of photography is fine, but I would prefer someone who specializes in Still life, landscapes, or photojournalism. Thanks.

I don't mean to hijack your thread; but could someone list like 5-10 photographers that every amateur photographer (like myself) should know about and check out?

^^ it'd be easier if we knew what style of photography you were into. There isn't a specific set of people you are required to know about.

To OP: Ansel Adams, as previously stated. Easiest photographer to write about, that fits your criteria.

Sure, my bad. I like documentary photography, portraits and street and such. The likes of Bruce Gilden etc...

Ansel Adams

That's what I was going to say. He had so much passion for photography AND nature. His life was pretty interesting too, but of course so are many other photographers.

Now I'm thinking though about how I hate to say Ansel Adams because he is so popular, but he is also worth it. But, for the sake of discovering SOMEONE ELSE, maybe the thread-starter could could check out the other people mentioned in the thread.
