indesign.

i'm too poor for indesign so i downloaded a freeware program called scribus..

when i made my logos on photoshop/gimp vs indesign/scribus the indesign/scribus one turned out a lot cleaner and nicer.

what software would you guys suggest to use in order to create a logo with text?

indesign is good as missy said or a lot of designers use illustrator for the text and shapes and basic drawing stuff and take it into photoshop for effects, filters, finishing touches etc. but photoshop isnt too good for text/ rendering because its a raster program as apposed to a vector program like illustrator

@kaboom depends on what kind and what the purpose is. If your just starting brush up on html and maybe learn the basics first. Then design comes second, if you wanna skin a website then I suggest using a hosted version of wordpress and play with that.

I like the work coming out of this thread thus far keep it up.

^w3 schools( website) is good, there are tons of websites and books out there with help, but really you just have to teach yourself. figure out what you want to do and then figure out how to do it. time and effort is about all there is to it.
im currently workin on one for the gallery im workin at

also, just got a work study job at my school as a graphic designer>

sure beats workin cash registers, the library, etc.

i know what your saying. i always see what else i can do to something, but most of the time it becomes difficult calling it 'finished'. sometimes i sleep on it then the next day when i go to work on something i'm like "what was i thinking?" type of thing and change it all up. another thing is color. deciding on color.... its like this one piece of work could pretty much be any color combo out there, but finding meaningful colors always helps to make it relateable to the concept.

and, good stuff up there daaangster, i'm really diggin that filmore poster
