doap soap. im down to be in a group with vinbro. I like the idea of the book, but the only thing that I'm worried about is how this will be paid for.

same, thats why I was thinking of a blog. just do the whole thing for 6 months, and at the 6 month point have a vote for the best 25 shots and they go into the book or something to that effect

since me and halfbreded live so close to each other maybe we could be in a "group" and take pictures of the same thing but from different angles to show how each photographer see things differently?

Word, that'll be dope if that's what you guys want to do. But, I don't think we should limit anyone to a theme or have boundaries. As corny as it may sound, I think our book would be the best if everyone tried aimed for the best shots no matter the scenario. From just skimming over the posters, I can see that we already have a shitload of talent and support, so if everyone just gave %120 we'll produce %120.

I already thought about the payment, if there is a group of 4, they can split payment 4 ways and and have money sent to a preferred person on a scheduled date. Now determining who those people may be is another task.

The minimum for a 80pg 10x8 hardcover landscape on blurb is $35 with the dust jacket or $37 for image wrapped. www.blurb.com/create/book/pricing#standard-landscape

We just need to find the average cost per person for 4 people and the amount of copies (how many books do we want

I would like to be in this if possible but I support this nonetheless. I definitely think a book is the way to go but as to organizing it, I have no opinion.

Yea Blurb give you the option to add the book on their webstore and people can order , They print them based on order so no stock needed.

Alright so I was thinking about changing my spot from a photographer to an organizer since I'll be having exams and extra ciricculars and ship throughout the 6 month period and I'm not sure if I can keep up with the photos plus I don't think my skills are up to par as the others haha. What I can do though instead is just help out organizing all this with the others and etc. So yeah if anyone wants my spot, take it lol, is that alright?

Is everyone else good with a hardcover book?? I don't mind spending the extra few bucks for a hardcover imagewrapped book. We don't really NEED premium paper (wouldn't mind it though), but having a custom logo is the only way of not having a blurb logo on the cover. As of now, an 80pg book would suffice (16 photographers-->4 groups-->20 pictures per person)

Anyone else have any other ideas??

Anyways, still willing to participate. But I'm still a little clueless in how this would work. I'm just wondering what the rundown of this book would be like. As of now, from what I'm reading, it's a "shoot w/e you want" type concept?? And are we planning on "selling" this book?? Or is it more so a project for artists to just get together and create?? (And we each buy our own copy just for keepsake?? )

Thanks for setting everything up and organizing everything Shanklin. Lots of talented photographers on here, so great idea for putting everyone's works together.

It's 20 pages per person, and I think it's slightly expensive as well, but being that this is HB, where we notoriously drop 100's on kicks and denim, it's possible we could scrap up a few bucks

. On the good side, I think releasing the books quarterly (A: 1st quarter, B: 2nd, C: 3rd, and D: 4th) will definitely make paying easier (save $1 a day and it's paid for in two months) as well as giving each group adequate time to get the illest pictures. Now note, I just read that the book prices do NOT include shipping, so to the international crowd, beware of shipment rape.

Yeah the concept is basically shoot what you want, but you also have other members of your group who you can work with. As for selling our book, I heard blurb's open marketplace is pretty decent and anyone can buy your book as they please. But i'm down for making few bucks lol, if anyone knows a legitimate publisher, please do not be shy.

(P.S. theres no way in hell I could take all the credit for this, me and andy had an idea, and with the help of everyone else we can make it happen.)
