Since he asked, I'm gonna be a dick and say D3000 because he didn't do his research.

Unless he meant D300 or D90.

I wouldnt suggest a d90 as your first DSLR. Its kind of advanced. I started out with a d60 and it made me learn the essentials and made me better photographer. I have a d90 now and i love it but If I got the d90 a year ago i probably would have got frustrated with it and hated photography lol. Id get a d5000 or d60.

all I do is sip espressos and listen to AZ -mrelllis.tumblr.com

I'd get the D90 body only and settle for a Nikon 50mm f/1.8D.

I would suggest the D3000 over the D90. From what I've heard from friends D90 is an advanced camera compared to D3000.
