Indeed, any extra classes is just more food for the brain, i've been in over drive mode this last month trying to get invited to more free honor classes for next year

..mines like 32000 or something like that

also i mean im not trying to get you guys to come to SVA but basically you're in New York City, there's really no better place to further enrich your creative minds than the streets of NYC, having so many openings galleries museums etc and being surrounded by a world of everyday personal expression, just makes it that much better. So what im tryna say is it's more than just art school if you guys do choose SVA.

Yeah my choice really came down to location. It would have been cheaper to go someplace else but i happen to like NYC more than my current state Maryland.

i dont think judging on location is a good idea. its important but shouldnt be a deciding factor. i believe mica is higher in "ranking" (which i kind of think doesnt mean shit as some websites like usnews will put risd on top of yale which it DEFINITELY is not) and if it really is better then you should go. although for undergrad its probably not that big of a deal as sva is still pretty good. just dont do that when deciding on where to go for your mfa id say.

RISD has a better art school than Yale

ok then, well that your opinion......

But this is how i feel your in art school with has art specific disciplines and like minded individuals rather than being in a University which has an art department. And if you really want to take ivy league courses RISD offers a dual program ( basically you get a degree from Brown and RISD) or you take classes at Brown for course credits at RISD free of charge.

RISD's Foundation year is notorious for its rigor and structure which isn't for everyone(which is what i want) however they are ultimately preparing your for a job in an art related field. C'mon lol! Pixar, Apple, Google, Urban-Outfitters,Reebok and other Big name companies come to RISD for internship opportunities and have portfolio reviews and job interview on campus.

I'm being pretty much bias at this point because i was accepted there, and honestly i don't know too much about Yale's school of art (Im not knocking Yale it does have a good art program being it is number two and Yale has been number 1 before also the two interchange for the 1st year after year) However i wouldn't dismiss RISD for being number 1.

yeah i guess it is highly opinionated and i agree that if you do that dual program with brown its probably equal to or better. risd has some cool teachers though. youll have a good time. steven smith teaches photography there and hes a badass. i probably would have applied there if that application process wasnt such bullshit (draw a bicycle? come on how is that even relevant..) and ive heard they make you focus on other things aside from your major which i dont believe you should have to do unless you want to. yale vs risd might also be a difficult comparison as yale's art program is mfa only.

Man, I'm still waiting on my registration booklet. Can anyone at SVA recommend any professors/classes?
