@BKBROWN I see some of your shots have a lot of reblogs. I'm looking to get more exposure for my photography. Do you think that the people who reblog way down the chain actually check the source and see who took the picture? Should I fux wit it?

25000 notes... 1000 views, and probably half of that is tumblr so 500 views for 25,000 notes

most people don't check the photographer. they just reblog

I recently got a substantial amount of notes on a photo... 2,300+ and that was major for me; previously I hadn't gotten over 100. Since this I have gained approx. 50ish followers.
Theres some numbers for ya. I think tumblr is worth while for people to see your stuff but most people don't give a shit about photography, they just want cool shit on their blog. I think you will find the people that actually follow you are the ones who understand what you are doing and are more fascinated than to just press reblog. Its up to you!

It's really hard to say. I think getting tumblr exposure is all about capturing stuff that kind of fits the mentality of tumblr or stuff that is emerging. but even then if you don't post a consistient theme on your blog then people are timid to follow. like i posted that pic of death grips and got over 400 reblogs from it (stoked) but only got like 5 new followers. it seems like everything else on the internet you just have to be mildly to very famous to have any sort of large following. or be a girl. white middle class male struggle over here.

also, just copped this. fucking excited. parents surprised me for graduation.

beautiful condition. came with original boxes and manuals and strap and everything.

mamiya 6 !
i was def considering 6x6. The 500C/M was my first choice, but I was sold on the portability of the 7. not to mention the lenses are fucking gorgeous. I also considered a that fuji 6x9 but decided that since it's so cheap i can put off getting one.

no 6 for the same reason. and 6x7 is great because you can get that extra space for panoramic. i'm like flipping looking at the size of the negative. my 60D won't be able to touch it.

i have a question for those more knowledgeable than me. ok so say i have two canon ae-1s. both of them have the same 400 iso film in them, but one has a 35-200mm 3.5 zoom lens on it, and the other one has a 50mm 1.8 on it. if i set the aperture on both of the cameras to 5.6, will the shutter speed have to be slower on the ae-1 with the 35-200mm lens on it in order to get the same exposure as the one with the 50mm set at 5.6? i am having this problem with my two ae-1s. i think its because the lens is so long that it needs more light to get the same exposure, even when the zoom is set to 50mm and the aperture is the same.

yes.
from here:
http://www.cambridgeincolour.com/tutorials/camera-exposure.htm

"Technical Note: With many lenses, their light-gathering ability is also affected by their transmission efficiency, although this is almost always much less of a factor than aperture. It's also beyond the photographer's control. Differences in transmision efficiency are typically more pronounced with extreme zoom ranges. For example, Canon's 24-105 mm f/4L IS lens gathers perhaps ~10-40% less light at f/4 than Canon's similar 24-70 mm f/2.8L lens at f/4 (depending on the focal length)."

no way dude

if you have iso 400 in both and you have the same speed and aperture it will be exposed the same way.

when you use an external meter there is no setting for focal lenght or brand of camera.

yeah idk, shits weird. i figured it would be the same regardless of the length of the lens. i thought maybe the meter was messed up in one of the ae-1s. oh well, we'll see when i get my pictures back.

I followed you.

I want to post up some film stuff but I need to get a scanner that will scan my negatives since Walgreens obviously can't scan images onto a disc correctly. I have yet to take anything all that great though.

Are you using the Epson software or Silverfast? Mine came with silverfast and its 10x better.
