Kodak is selling of it's film division, so buy that portra before theres no more.
Sep 02, 2012 @ 03:52
@jlsupreme does the fact that they are selling their film division really mean that they won't continue to make film?

they are trying to sell to a company that is very into photography, so it will probably still be all good

portra is one of the most popular films, so there is no way they will let it be discontinued

^You should probably crank up your shutter speed past 60 cause there's a lot of camera shake going on in those shots

i had to pull it out in a dark room
RIP STYLUS EPIC 2012-2012

canon ae-1 is a solid choice, or nikon fm2/em/fa/fe/fe2/fg. there are usually tons of ae-1s on craigslist for $50-$100.

fisheye is cool. esp for skating. but not much else

Sep 06, 2012 @ 04:52
@aalexander any reasons why you want to develop your own film?

i think it's usually a better use of time/money to get it done by a lab

just got into Medium Format and it is mesmerizing... the dynamic range, the details in the shadows, the dof...

pics from Mamiya 645 1000s with Sekor 80mm f2.8 i got recently:
-pros: very affordable with really good optics. "carry-able".
-cons: not a switchable back system, you have to finish a film you start and no polaroid back :/

portra 160, scanned on Epson V700 and developped in LR
