Official Film Thread

FE2 and T4 is a weird two cameras to choose from. I recently copped an Olympus XA after asking a bunch of photog friends about film P&S. It seemed like the best option under $100. After being used to lugging around bricks like my Yashica electro its really nice having some shit that looks like a toy. The ease of use : quality of the pics is better than any of my other cameras.

heard alot of good things about the Olympus Stylus models as well.

though I'm thinking dude's right recommending an SLR if you're just starting. something completely manual should teach hou quick. you'll eat up some film, but fuck it.

Word thanks for the info. I'll definitely consider the XA and Stylus Epic when I decide to cop a P&S. I already have experience shooting manual considering I have a D90. I just wanted to make the switch to film to see what it's like haha. Definitely looks like fun and well worth it judging from all of the photos I've seen in this thread so far. Can't wait. &)

how much they charge?

they charged $26 for 2 rolls next day pickup. i probably paid way to much but they were my first 2 rolls ever shot so i really wanted them for next day.

Found a FE2 with a 50mm 1.8 for 250$. Should I cop?

pretty sure you can get a better price. I got the same exact setup as you but for 115$. its in bgn condition though.

These are amazing dude, what film are you using?

also, a little bit off-topic, but could anyone recommend me a somewhat decent scanner for like 100-150 dollars?

Copped for 10$ at a local thrift store. Just some minor scratches, but everything else is working perfectly. &)

to be honest... I'm not sure what kind of film im shooting with, but it's shot at 400 ISO. I'm not sure because I enrolled in a photography class and we get film wound for us in empty used canisters. It's shot with a pretty old but decent camera, a Pentax K1000, that we're allowed to borrow from the class. I'm looking to invest in a film camera because the differences from film and digital are astonishing... You really can't feel the difference for yourself until you tried it
