I'm not proud of the photo as a whole, but I'm incredibly proud of the tones I've achieved in the photo.

Just wondering, what did I get downvoted for on the last page? Was it something I said, or are the pictures just that bad?

work of hollis brown thornton.
anybody know how to do this? this is so interesting
has anyone tried this yet? I think I'm going to give it a go next week after school?

Btw if people could give a c&c when they dislike a photo or set of photos I think it would be helpful for all of us here since we all( I assume) want to get better.

Do yall scan in your own pics?

My friends dad just found an old pentax 35mm, gonna be going to korea in 2 weeks and was gonna bring it along for some pics. just wondering how the scanners are vs a shop?

and how much does it cost for 35mm to get developed per roll normally?

Nope. You could if you have a dedicated scanner and good ones or around 300(plustek comes to mind). I get mine scanned at a lab and if its not really shitty film like what I had been using for a few months until recently, the scans are the best around(although I still would like to do my own eventually).

Heres an example

They're the best lab around(to me) and per roll is like 6 bucks per dev.

Do any of you guys go to school for film? I'm somewhat interested in getting into the industry but, I feel like going to film school would box me in...where a college would let me double major....plus some people have also told me its mainly for making connections in the industry..I've also been recommended to go to a school that has decent film classes on the west coast and build connections there..I was thinking ASU,Santa Cruz or Santa Barbra since I don't think I could get into USC. Any advice is appreciated...

If your not sure that you are completely into the industry, I would recommend you take some classes at a local community college. I took a few semesters of film in order to learn more about it, and honestly I had a lot of fun. You build great connections and make some real friends that are interested into the arts. Can't hurt to at least try it, but don't go out of the way until you know it's what you want to do. And if you decide to pursue it, most community colleges transfer over to the major universities, if they are in the same city/ state.

You learn a lot while taking these classes. A lot of photography students transfer over to film since they all share the same concept. Film is just moving picture.

Here is something I would not have been able to do last year.  Behind the scenes video to a photoshoot I did for my brand.

Best way is to do it alone at home.

Just need to buy a pack like that http://www.caddyphoto.com/product_info.php?cPath=14_267&products_id=1217
and go on !
buy your chimie online, and it's very easy... 10rolls : 5€ / 7$ ...
Scan it, "et zou"

I'm gonna try tri X with rodinal. ... love result...

If that;s addressed to me, the first is a crop. The second isn't but it just looks really long because of the picture itself and in comparison to the other photo.
