You do get negatives from instant pack film, so I figured it was alright.

SLR or Point&Shoot.

Canon AE-1 if you're willing to learn.
Olympus MJU if you want a simple and easy camera.

I think most of you have heard of colorneg, here is there website: http://www.c-f-systems.com/Plug-ins.html
basically most scanners don't properly get the right colours when converting from neg to positive and this photoshop plugin does. It's an amazing plugin and the way it works is really on point.

It costs $67 for a licence key, but the key works for three computers. So if anyone is interested in splitting the cost 3 ways and each getting the plugin then pm me. Also, if me and someone else scan our student id's and email it to them they will give us another key for free, so we could potentially split the price six ways.

It may not be an option for you but its nice to have both. Whenever I go out and shoot I have my SLR (AE-1 or FE2) for more predictable and controllable crispy photos, and I also bring my point and shoot (T3 or Stylus) to shoot with. I usually end up with more solid photos from the SLR but a lot of times I will get pleasing results that are unexpected from the point and shoots. Its also nice to have a point and shoot to bring out to the bar or when you just don't want to lug around an SLR. But if you can only afford one I would get an AE-1 Program and then buy the point and shoot when you have the extra funds.
