View Full Version : Better quality then BBC for $50.
I noticed this the other day. Look at the attention to detail on the allover print hoodie famous stars and stripes sells for $50, compared to what bbc sells for $300+

logos match up and everything right at the zipper.

the logos don't even match up, it's a fuckin mess. Looks like it was sewn by one of the amateurs on this forum. I mean, if BBC could atleast get their logos to line up at the zipper seem, then atleast they'd give bootleggers a harder time to copy shit.
What gives, are people really paying this much for a full zip?

No, you're right jojo in terms of the 'lining up', i give you that much. But sometimes, fashion or art per se, is about creating the 'imperfection' of the 'perfection'. For instance, how can one appreciate a painting with various colours just smeared together to create a 'masterpiece' or what we would all call, a 'mess'? Sure, it deserves no credibility for its 'prestigious' but it's the 'prestigious' feeling/perception it gives off when you look at it.
So for these BBC D n' D hoodies, the design looks better when it's not in a precise position, rather than it being aligned. It's more appealling. Dido with the Bape hoodies; catches your eye more. :)

Shut the hell up. The reason the design on the BBC doesn't line up is because BBC cares less about the quality of their products and more about the $300 of revenue they earn when they sell it.

Relax dude, it's not like i'm disagreeing with him. I agree with him in one aspect and wanted to broaden the perception of why it might not have been aligned deliberately.
Sometimes, if a pattern is too 'perfect', you'll just perceive the sweater like any other one. But if it is intentionally designed 'without borders', chances are it will appeal to you more than the former, because it's got an 'edge' to it. And with the D n' D hoodies, they happened to sell quite successfully.
If you've noticed, the stitching of the authentic hoodies are nearly flawless. So they must have paid a fair amount of wages to the assembly workers. With that being said, don't you think that they would have thought about aligning the design in the first place if they were planning to do all that???
Whatever man, there are endless perspectives and i'm just displaying mine in an appropriate manner. You want to display yours, that's no problem, but don't tell me to 'shut the hell up', because i can get dirty too.
Ah fuck that shit, $300+ for a hoody? You got to be out of your mind, I don't even care if I were rich, that's a rediculous amount for a hoody with a bunch of colorful shit on it that could be made in Photoshop in under 5 minutes.
(Well if I were rich, I'd probably have everything from BBC or APE, but whatever.)

no idea, what other colors do they make it in?
Eh...I'm not a big fan of either but the BBC hoody is just nicer regardless of 'lining up logos'. The Famous one doesn't line up either..look closer.

I may be new but I am f@#4ing sorry to say that $300 for a sweatwhirt is highway robery. $50 is good if you can find them, they are running around $100 on the bay.
For $300 your get a limited run (to any one color) Sweatshirt made in China for a Japanesse company paying a American Rap Artist
For $50 you get a somewhat limited run sweatshirt made in China (i think) for a American Company owned by a Punk rocker.

when you drop 300 dollers on the hoody your paying for the exclusiveness.
but in my town you can goto the downtown mall and get a fake one for 45 dollers and no one will know the difference.
but i hear when u drop the 300 it feels like your wearing 300 dollers.
thats just what i heard.

I just bought a Stars and Straps t-shirt off the official website (with shipping to Toronto, Canada).
How about the fucking shipping cost more than the shirt itself!
T-shirt: $18
Shipping: $21
Being told the shipping cost after pressing the "pay" button: Getting ass fucked.

You would rather buy a BBC hoody for 300+?
You know what, I have. I have four. Two BAPES, and Two BBCs.
Why? Because I love them.
The fact of the matter is, the two products/ brands are incommensurable.
I bought the t-shirt because I thought it was sick.
I bought all four hoodies, costing me over a thousand bucks because...
I THINK THEY ARE SICK.
End of discussion.

ok ok you gettin defensive over a few couple jackets?
if you got money to buy em, then do what you do. I like FSAS so I'm good.
Maybe I came off a little strong, rather I was simply delineating that people pay $315 for a BBC hoody with the intention that they are paying that amount for that product.
Stars and Straps is still sick. But there's a reason why they're cheap. It is simply due to the fact that they being produced as we are typing in this forum.
Though I cannot say the same for BBC hoodies, as the ones for sale should be out of production, while Nigo and Pharrell are brainstorming the next "batch" or season so to speak.
Rock your Stars and Straps. It ain't nothing to me.

Yeah I agree FS is too mainstream. The reason iv'e decided to pay so much for my BBC stuff is simply the fact that it's limited edition. It's awesome to know that what your wearing other people can't obtain. Also I like causing whiplash when I walk into a room. Walking into a place and getting all the looks = a very NICE feeling, espically if you payed so much for your gear. As if your wearing FS people could care less and will be like " wow he shops at PacSun" yah know? Well thats just my 2cents. I don't own a BBC hoodie, but I did just pick up this Polo

why how many people do you know have this, and people will immidiatly look at you if your wearing this. Keep in mind it's $160.00 a cop.

who CARES if it lines up at the zipper, that doesn't mean better quality. The designs are printed onto the sweater, not sewn on.
Check the stitching, lining, materials used, and even the zipper THEN talk about quality.
