new era is an American brand lol

anyways, I prefer American and European, like Stussy, Nike, Adidas Classic, UNDFTD, supreme, NBHD, etc. and alot of the crossovers

a lot of Japanese shit is hype, and therefore gets faked a lot imo but some of the designs are just insane, i know it'll be a couple more years til i cop that shit...

CO-SIGN ON THAT HOMIE. Good point. Fact of the matter is, there are dope brands popping up all over the world from Italy to Australia and everywhere else for that matter. If you limit yourself to one country or the other you will eventually miss out on something dope. On the other hand if you don't know that JAP is at the very least mildy offensive and a racial slur left over from the days of WWII and before...then worrying about which country to cop clothes from is the least of your issues...

"but my japanese friends dont get mad.."
then tell your japanese friends to talk to their grandparents and learn their history. and while theyre doing that, why dont you sit down and listen to them as well. itll do you some good.
read a book.
come on kids, ww2 was just a few decades ago. those people are still alive and youre so stuck on what bape shoes youre wearing you dont even know the history behind things that really matter. shame shame shame

Wasn't stussy started in the United States then dwindled out in the 90's. They chose to switch markets and went to japan where they thrived, then came back to the United States?

Nah Stussy got played just as hard in Japan as it did out here...at least in the early 90s there were fake joints left, right and center, and no one was trying to mess with them. I think having the connection with Head Porter mighta done a lot to resuscitate the image in the mid to late 90s...But Stussy is mad complicated. In NYC you can go to the Stussy store where tees are on some $30+ ish, and then head up Broadway to Blades where they're like $18.99...I am always confused how on one hand it's a mainstream brand, and yet they manage to keep the dope downtown boutique game goin too. No denying it was a huge influence on the rest of this whole movement though. Like Jeffstaple often says...Shaun Stussy is the epitome of sucess in this game...he came up, made some good loot, and got the hell out of the company before it went to all hell...

i think stussy is STILL doing it and stays relevant in the game... it has been very consistent lately, not amazing but they keep on keepin up

You're right. Maybe "history books" is too much. You should just try reading BOOKS. Some kind of book. Any book.
Read something.
Stay in school.

im sorry that being sensitive to prejudice and racial issues is "BSs" in your opinion. I forgot what really matters in life. T-shirts and shoes.

it depends on your style really...

in terms of style, japanese or euro brands are WAY better, hands down. I'm not talking about Bape from Japan though since it's kinda 'americanized' now.

also quality is much better in my opinion, plus they're in the frontlines of 'street' fashion and determining the trends and not following them.

In the US, people seem to just bite off one another. Nothing is really innovative. Slap a logo on a tee and sell it. Of course, some US companies are good but if you're talking about who's influencing the next big thing, it's usually from Japan or Europe. I guess the US 'street' wear market is still young?

Just my 2 cents
