its hilarious how everyone thinks grnappletree is biting leroy jenkins. grnappletree has been on the nature/floral tip for years now.... plus keep in mind that leroy jenkins pieces are hand made and grnappletree pieces are probably made overseas in factories, which requires a lot of lead time. end result is that people keep thinking that cats are biting when designs just tend to coincide and release during similar timeframes.... and oftentimes the originator ends up looking like the biter. i'm not saying who came up with it first, but it is entirely possible for grnappletree to have done this at the same time and released it later. aesthetic wise, its not like 10deep all of a sudden started making these hoodies. it fits in with what grnappletree is doing (and has been doing for years now).

FYI... GRN is probably one of the only companies that's really doing it that actually does all of their production in-house in LA. Sourcing, cutting, sewing, the whole nine. That's probably why they can churn out something like this in small quantities but with quality. I think its cool that even as a bigger company, they do small projects like this just to keep it interesting...

Realistically something like this (in such small qty's) can only make them a couple hundred bucks... So i dont think they're trying to bank off of it as much as they want to throw their contribution in to the 'all-over' craze (that noone 'invented') that will define '06.

I just saw both hoodies on DG. I must say I'm jocking the green one alot more than the floral version. I definitely like the material they used since it sorta looks and feels like a canvas. I have the Ornate hoody which came out a few months ago and I really like it. I'm not too sure about spending $200 for a hoody that looks like a couch though. I could be wrong but I think the design and color of the hoody looks pretty vintage. The color itself looks real old and bland which is why I'm not feelin it. They should have made it a white hoody with brighter color schemes. It would make someone who's rocking it looks like a 50yr old cat, people might even think he's crazy for wearing it.

Overall, spending $200 is definitely overpriced even if the hoody was hand made. If the design was hand stiched then that'd be totally different. Maybe if they made it reversible like Leroys more people will consider copping it. I think people who copped it are the ones who's gonna try and flipping them on eBay. Don't be fooled though cause I'm sure this will sell a little less than $200 on eBay or about the retail price. Also, another point I want to make is GrnAppleTree hoodies are made thin. I wouldn't be bold enough to wear this in the winter season.
