I gotta admit, as much as i'm against LRG, they do have some nice stuff (sometimes). The thing is, I dont wanna go around flossing it and having little kids try to relate just cause they seen me wear LRG and Kanye or whomever wears it also. Plus it's easily coppable. I kind of like knowing I won't look like a carbon copy of the guy standing next to me. My 2 cents

What does quality production have to do with whether or not a company sold out? LRG sold out years ago when they gave up most of their company to multi-million-dollar investors and left the independence of a small company run out of an orange county office. thats not a bad thing at all . more power to them for caking off of well-made stuff. but sorry to break it to you cuzzo. youre a little late for the bus. they sold out years ago

Wern't they started by a bunch of underground(not nessesarily hiphop) artists that were just fed up with the bs that was coming out of the corporate america sweat shops in south east asia? I just find it funny that now they're the ones with the insane circus of a display at magic that's sponsored by multi million dollar corporate investors when they always said they were "roots people". The new line is...different. I can't really put my finger on where their influences came from but it's sure to make Kanye and other top 40 hiphopers look fresh and brand new.

fuck that independence day shit
by "selling out" they have been able to offer much higher quality clothes to the people. I don't real feel their whole swagger with designs cause I'm not a colorful person, but you really can't knock anything they do because they do it exceptionally well

there is no doubt right now that LRG is one of the most popular brands out there. with all the different products that they're producing now its more of a lifestyle rather then just a clothing brand. they are at the top of the game in outterwear right now, i mean they're working with everything there is out there from track jackets to snakeskin. while some cats are jumping off cuz LRG is now "sold out" or "mainstream," what did you expect them to do? stay low and underground forever? you forget that clothes is a business as well

My point was more along the lines of "who cares if they sold out" - if the clothes are good then what does it matter who backs them financially?
I view Selling out differently then just selling your company to corporate investors. I see selling out as changing your overall product to cater to the market. They haven't changed their overall style so as long as the clothes are good I'm okay with it...

If a product is good quality and pleasing to the eyes i could care less if it was made in a ginormous factory by underage lesbians with one eye or outa the garage of a looser who stays with his mom and hes 29. I dont buy clothing based on a ideal. and people who think they are have no clue what goes on behind closed doors anyway
with that said.....I dont really like lrg...its aight

I need some opinions from you guys... honest ones please.
I sponsor the whole LRG SKATE TEAM on Diamond hardware and they want to do either a collabo Jean or a jacket with Diamond.
Do you guys think this would be a good or a bad move on my part?
In my eyes I see them as a dope brand for the type of stuff they do, but I have been thinking that maybe they might be better left to the mtv kids and pop stars than to have any association with Diamond on that level.
Why I want to know what you think is because I think they have grade A quality and I think we could actually do something really dope together, the downside is wondering how it will effect peoples/skaters/consumers thoughts toward Diamond for getting down on a project with a big time Urban brand like LRG?

You should probally start a seperate topic for this.
And I say go for it. yes theres alot of LRG out there but as far as i can see its a pretty well respected brand for a mainstream one. Theres nothimg wrong with opening yourself up to customers who you wouldnt normally have either.

I would go for it, LRG hasn't done anything wrong. They've been running with a great idea and vibe for mad years now. There's always gonna be haters. Fuck them, do your own thing. I seriously don't think peeps are gonna hate on diamond for a collabo with LRG. I don't necessarily feel there new shit like I did the older stuff, but thats just personal preference. They're still dope.

diamond, I dno't see how you could possibly ask a bunch of kids to make your decisions for you. Theres just something wrong with that, your a person in some sotr of business, how are a bunch of people gonna do your job for you. No Disrespect, but its just kinda wierd to me, that your defering this decision, like it makes me wonder where your companies direction is

LRG's pretty wack to me...I'm not sure if they're milking you for some credibility Nick - lord knows they need it. That said it would be dope to see some Diamond denim...even if it comes thru LRG...could still be a good look. I'm on the fence on it. Just make sure you benefit from the deal as much as they do!

hahaa. Wowzers homeboy!
I am on here almost everyday talking to these people so i feel
like askin certain questions is no big deal.
I have my own opinions just like everyone else does and askin for feedback
from people that for the most part support my brand is not a crime.
I never said that what anyone on here says is going to ultimately effect any decisions I make, I am just asking for opinions from some people that I don't know personally.
Thank you guys for your input.... Much appreciated.

Does LRG have anything in the skate market besides clothes? I mean, Diamond is a hardware company so it'd be dope to see them support that in some real way instead of just tossing clothes to a skater and calling themselves a skate company. Personally, Nick, I wouldn't cop but I'm also an asshole and hate that top 40 LRG, Phatfarm, whatever stuff.
My point was more along the lines of "who cares if they sold out" - if the clothes are good then what does it matter who backs them financially?

thats the problem, their style has changed quite a bit.. most people dont realize how long LRG has been in the game, and what their original ashetic was..
that being siad they still come out with some hot pieces, however i find some of the stuff tries too hard to be eyecatching, without neccesarily pulling it off well in terms of color coordination and design

lrg is cool with me. about half of their line is hot.
the other half looks like run of the mill shit. but in their position they've got to make those pieces they know will sell well. it's nothing.
you kids are actually sitting behind a computer screen typing about how "LRG are sellouts" while wearing a pair of nikes. eatadiccup.
