Why do some people leave the stickers on their baseball caps? Usually, it's the New Era hologram one on top. I think a few times, I have seen smaller ones under the brim on too. My new cap has a small Stussy one on the bottom and a big New Era one on top. I got rid of them ASAP after I cut out the sales tag. Is this supposed to be cool (leaving them on)?
Well some people just think it shows off its authenticity while some ppl say taking it off leaves a sticky spot which will collect dust and dirt.

Do they even make fake caps? Specifically New Eras or all sorts of fakes? I never heard of the dust thing. Makes sense, I guess.
Yes, they do make fake fitteds.

i used to remove all the stickers when i first started buying new eras but as i came to see if you remove the gold 59/50 sticker which is the one on the top of the bill it'll defintely leave a sticky circle which attracts dust and even more so it leaves a circle mark which is often discolored compared to the rest of the bill especially on darker color hats. There might be a few other reasons, thats just mine from personal experience.

So you actually walk around with the sticker on your cap?

I actually walk around with the stickers on my hat. I've actually done it for almost a decade now. And I'm actually the coolest mother fucker in the world, so if you wanna be cool, do what I do

i sure do, and by that i mean the gold sticker on the outter/upper part of the bill. i personally would preferr a gold sticker on the bill then a faded circle with dust and lint ruining a nice hat IMO.

What other sticker woudl there be? You mean the small ones on the inside or bottom? Thanks for your explanation(s).

yeah, depending on the style of the hat, meaning whether if its a NBA or MLB or anything similar they usually come with a silver hologram sticker underneath the bill which has the logo of the organization who licensed the hat. But being that those are a lot smaller in size and are under the bill which isn't exposed to as much light and dust as the outter/upper part of the bill those defintely should be removed unless thats just your deal.

remember when people let the tags dangle from their Starter caps

aha them tags were the cool. people at my grade school used to think that the cotton behind the starter star was collectible, and you could send em in for free stuff... haha grade school
Does that sticker really leave a mark on the hat?

^ word to kris kros
I found if u peel the sticker when u first get the cap most of the time there won't be residue or a lighter color.

I should have preserved the sticker so I can sell it to someone else who wants to rock it.

I have like 12 New Eras and the hat always bows and gets bent up and faded before that sticker comes off. to me it shows the world that no matter what kind of hat it is, they better believe it cost me at least $30. even in the dark they can see it.
and when i'm eating cheetos, it gives me a place to grab my hat by...

i have close to 40 fitteds, so i'd say i know my new eras fairly well. and i've always removed the stickers. i've never come close to experiencing any kind of fading or sticky residue or any of that shit. NEVER. i never even heard of that shit. i can take a picture of every brim of every fitted i own and there isn't even remotely a sign of where the sticker was.
What i personally think y'all probably did to come to a conclusion like that, is you removed the sticker after wearing the hat for a while and this sunlight faded around the sticker, the sticker got worn in and left residue, etc.
i think y'all just being ridiculous about not removing the sticker for reasons like that.

lol i have 26 fitteds and what ive found is that its a combination of the starter cap phenomenon and the dreaded ring
1 everyone loves to show off the authenticity of their gear and want to keep certain things fresh as hell if the tag is still on you hat then it should be factory fresh
2 depending on the cap color and material the ring will apply white hats if youre gonna take the sticker off do it as quickly as possible and NE white wool hats turn yellow after a while so sometimes when you buy them theyre already discolored and under the sticker is still fresh and you dont want a 2 inch circle of clean against a dirty lookin hat
but this is just my observation this also happens to some black and navy blue hats the color fades and the wool under the sticker is still colorfast

Yes, they do make fake fitteds.
^not even a big deal so dont bring that
I leave the baseball holo on the bottom because I think it looks pretty. I promptly remove the size tab because no one needs to know my headsize but me.
Wangstas keep the new era sticker on.
!!!!!!!

yeah. not feeling the sticker on the brim. on the NE hats that i have, i took the sticker off with ease... no residue or anything.
i think it's more the style than anything... like someone said about how people used to keep the tags on their starter caps... but i liked the comment about when you're eating cheetos it gives you a spot to grab your hat. hahah. that shit cracks me up.

I have over 20 NE's and I keep the sticker on all of them. I think it comes down to your personal style and what you prefer. One of my boys promply takes the stickers off because that's what he prefers. Persoanlly, I leave it on because I think it gives any hat more character. Also anyone who thinks it's a wigger thing that is bs because I see so many downtown NYC skater kids rocking their fitteds with the sticker on. From what I've seen when I go out it seems split 50/50 between kids rocking the sizing sticker or not rocking it, and NE's look fresh regardless.

you gotta do something if i prove it. you gotta give me a t-shirt of my choice, from a new season of yours. and i'll take the time and take the pics of the gang of hats i have.

I leave the sticker and stuff on because it looks nice. I just move the gold FIFTYNINE50 on the bottom. It also helps when your friend is like "DUDE YOU WENT TO SOUTH SEATTLE AND BOUGHT A BOOTLEG DODGERS HAT OMGOMGOMGORGASMOMGOMG!"
take it off, looks ridiculous esp if the hat aint new or clean...
i have a new system
i will keep the sticker ONLY the first time i wear the cap, once i'm done the first wear, i remove it..
best of both worlds
