New Staple http://highsnobiety.com/home/the_daily_news/archive/2007/september/11/staple_aw_07_cut_sew_collection_preview/index.htm?tx_ttnews%5BbackPid%5D=27&cHash=aa955d59da

The new Staple collection is looking killer. The pigeon bomber jacket is unreal. any opinions and thought?

Staple is clothing for 30-40yr old men old men who look down on hypebeast youngins. They try to dissociate themselves from the word "streetwear" and are repulsed by conventions such as Magic. Looking at the new stuff, looks like they've been hanging out w/Visvim & HF in the creativity department of making basic clothes w/high prices.

I think his designs are just ok. staple t's always have very understated themes or some complex/inside msgs. I don't get it and don't care for it.

As far as his other cut&sew pieces, he does have a huge visvim/HF creative connection and I applaud staple for his fair pricing and availbilty. As clean as it might be, the whole "overpriced/basic/japanese exclusive look" is way too common and pricey for my budget. $200-300 for a basic visvim L/S button up or a $100 v-neck tee doesn't appeal or make sense to me.

It's been done before. All of it. Would you really wear his beanie that has his name all over it?

staple has always been dope to me. you guys don't even give the credit where credit is due. stpl has been a og in the clothing industry. jeff staple himself even knows that some of his stuff doesn't sell b/c kids dont like it or don't understand it. some of his cut and sew look amazing but the price is always quite out there.

I can see how this might not appeal to a 18 year old hypebeast kid. But for someone a little older I think this stuff looks great. Staple is definetely trying to appeal to a older demographic.

It's not that I don't get it, it's just that the new collection doesn't look that great. Too often certain streetwear brands get into cut and sew and design some crappy looking shit and then claim that it will go over kids heads.

The button down shirts have a terrible cut and I can buy the same thing at Mervyns, you know the Van Heusen brand. (Not that i'd want too)

youre kidding right?
hypebeast.com is full of people that wear various company names all over various articles of clothing.

and can someone explain how clothing would go over someones head? aside from literally pulling a shirt over my head, I dont see it........

Don't confuse BORING with Clean and simple. This staple line just seems like a really boring and uninspired version of Supreme. Supreme's done sweaters, hats, and all those things. STPL is always boring.

It looks very clean to me not boring at all
a hat with his last name on it? so its the brands name makes no difference

I wouldn't call it boring...

not everyone wants to walk around with super-loud clothing all the time...

All the haters are funny. Don't like it? Don't buy it! Leave it for the heads who do appreciate the level they're on...

Paved: You do know that Staple is not actually his last name right? It's just the name of his design studio...

Some of the cut & sew pieces are amazing ... For people who understand that less is more sometimes and not for the Vin Diesel wannabees who dress up like clowns in the latest (read 25 years old) Nike zebra domino infra-red terra firma reverse rainbow sudafed dunks ...
