Strung used to be in Smash in Georgetown, but now that they're moving, it's gone. Are you the guy who ran that, Kicks?

The Adidas store in Georgetown gets good stuff - I still haven't checked to see if they've gotten Adicolor stuff though - I can't imagine why they wouldn't.

I'll agree that NoVA sucks for the most part (save Elite) but don't sleep on Sports Zone in Springfield Mall they have a few good things in there once in a while. But if you're looking for "limited" type clothes Elite at Fair Oaks Mall in NoVA and Social Study in Frederick MD is about it.

I Concur, NoVA needs to step their kick game up. Anyways yeah Springfield is kind of run down but they have a couple stores with quickstrike accounts and there's this one store down there that sells all these super rare new eras if you're into fitted caps. And sportszone is good, a lot of exclusives. I suggest you just run around Georgetown for a while, it's tourist season so it can get packed, but the best times to go are either on sundays or like the middle of the week. Other then that DC has some assorted sports, some in NE (G-town is in NW) so just grab a metro card and get to it. By the way Quick Pita right off of the Scott Key bridge in georgetown has some of the best food around, and I swear to god lupe fiasco works at the dress shop right across the street. If you see him you'll see what I mean. Hope this helped.

i grew up here but moved to texas then i moved back here.
i see a lot of guys rocking bapes but i think they are all fake since they probably bought em from gtown area.

ct players, is that by wisconsin next to 'originals'? there was a shop that sold sbs, air max, jordans, and the prices were good but i don't know about the authenticity since all shops carry fakes.

elite is by far my favorite store. i go there a lot.

They had a couple of nice brands in their lineup like Lemar & Dauley, Foreign Family, Orisue, and Coup de Grace. Shoewise, it sucked. The overall layout of the store was extremely bland. No pictures, no theme, nothing. Just white everywhere, and nothing that distinguishes the shop from others. I was expecting MAJOR to meet the standards of some of the great stores like The Reed Space or Dave's Quality Meats, but quite honestly, they didn't. Too much hype for nothing. Well I'll have to see if Commonwealth gets shit done in DC.

well it was obvious that the store still wasn't 100% ready....but like everything, just give it some time & i'm sure things will improve. i copped 2 rouge status tees & the paris coup de grace. the hot seller seemed to be the major new era. i think a lot of people had extremely high expectations for this opening, but you just have to give it time...i'm sure major will eventually be huge.

Major had alot of things going for them, good clothing lines that the DC/MD/VA region never had to offer until now, and some decent shoes. Why did I say it was a dissapointment? First, all the shoes there, with an exception to the wovens, can easily be acquired at the Sports Zone or a little help from the internet. ^You say they have alot of nice accounts, they only have one from what I can see which is an urban account.
Second, I waited in line for fuckin 3 hours, and when I went in they weren't really striking conversations with anyone. I figure if you wanted to open a successful business you would atleast try to befriend the first group of guys in line. Third, they didn't even give anything out for free.:( I will go back soon though, and see if my experience does change from last time. There will always be support for Major in my wallet regardless.

If you ever venture outside of DC to LA or NYC you'll know that most stores on a typical day (even the super overhyped ones) don't have all that unique of a selection of kicks, they're really only worth hitting up when they drop a special edition, that's really the only time that it makes them better than your average Sports Zone/Shoe City/DTRL etc. I think Major is well enough connected to get that hookup so that's what will set them apart.

- They dont even have all their inventory out yet on display. Most is still in storage. Yes the store is still a work in progress. Yall were feenin so they had to give yall a taste.
-They have the only Jordan Lifestyles account in the area. They will NOT carry SB's.
-White Spizzike's are a plenty. $300/pair I'm not gonna give out the drop date b/c there will be a riot up there.
-Sneakerman dude is out b/c how u gonna have a partner that dont have any $$$ to put up to start a biz. Just doenst make sense as a bizness. Put up or roll out.

With all due respect, I can understand that you're generating some hype for your boys but why not wait until the store opens to sound the alarm (or at least right before the opening)? I'm not sure all of the early hype for Major really helped them, if anything it may have set the expectation bar too high with some people. If Kickballers is going to be in Georgetown they'll get PLENTY of foot traffic of shoppers that probably won't have a clue about these online forums. And if the shop is happening, heads who ARE on these forums and go in there will also be spreading the good word.

I stopped by at Major today. Store is nice but agreed on the posts above, its clear that they are "open during construction". Nikes were not as impressive as some of the other shoes they've got. The Major x NewEra caps are sikk and I wanted a Major x LRG shirt but they were out of my size :(. The apparel side is a bit lacking but from what I can see they've got stuff in boxes trying to put out. People there were really friendly though, must love that. Overall good visit. For everyone else, I would check back in a month or two when they are settled in for a real evaluation.

right d51 doesn't have any accounts as of yet but it is possible to get an account with reebok and adidas doing consignment. nike on the other hand...probably won't happen. but d51 is definitely worth visiting if you're in the area. they are having the shoe drive all this week. so stop in and drop em off ya kicks. it's for a good cause :)

Major is def still a work in progress. Lots of potential though. For some reason, I get really excited when going into the store, yet I come out with nothing. It's just something entirely different from anything going down in DC. The guys around Major are already hating. In other news, this guy that came into the place I work told me that he talked to Greg from Elite and he told him that they were opening a store up in DC in April. Also, I dropped by Sportzone and talked to some dude about Major. He told me that Sportzone is trying hard to get an SB account which is kinda ridiculous since you need to be an actual skate shop to get an SB account. Ya ....idk
