FIRST the 30 and OVER club members ARE the ones who SHOULD have stashes of that gear. not kids born in 1989.
Second of ALL, pretty much everybody but KANE in that pic is like 21 or younger.
Another reason why rocking that gear/haircut/stonewash jeans is bad... makes ya look OLD!

YES having new ideas is the shit to be on, and I am pretty sure major just
worked something out with those guys at CrazyWear.
I'd rather see more people doing stuff, than people not having avenues to do shows or one day sales or whatever.

I do believe in maintaining a certain level of integrity, lest your store shelves or show spaces be filled with crap... but those Crazywear cats are pretty young and pretty polarized from the reality on the streets and party scenes of major cities... so they are gonna grow, if we give em soil.
Those guys need criticism and probably really want to hear what others think of their line.

While I wont be endorsing the use of celebrity images on clothes without permission... It is interesting to see how much stuff they are churning out.
I can't stand slogan shirts on a personal level, but some other people are really into it... so they have a reason and right to show and be carried.

I can recall, not 2 years ago when if you had on some colorful shit, and I'm not talking this new L&D flashback stuff, I'm talking like a purple Rocksmith jacket or maybe a vintage columbia joint, maybe you had on early Futura Dunk Hi's from Nike Skateboarding, you were pretty much Captain Homo.
Especially to the whiteys.
Hood cats seem more adaptable to a little flashy shit.

Obviously younger people in the tri-state are becoming more comfortable to wear colorful and fun fashions, a big sign that men and women are finally getting the conservative stick out of their asses around our area, even in the depths of the rural and ghetto areas.
Very good news.
So to me, that is a positive that allows me as a designer to feel less restricted and more encouraged.

But here it is now, about 2 years after the Lafayette and Broadway street walkers have been steadily bombed with BS generic "all over" crap; from every boutique to every Dr. Jays and Michael K, and People down here are just getting it into it. Mostly via up against the wall, DTLR, even finish line at Van Dorn mall looks crazy fruity. and of course, the local indy shops.
I blame Nigo.

Basically, if you find yourself about 3 years ahead of the game, you wont sell direct right now in DC/VA/MD for the most part.
You gotta go to the BIG trade shows, Agenda, Magic, Pool, ASR, B&B, etc... and go outside your local southeastern/mid-atlantic market.

I think that was a big reason for the Nike SB explosion. Sandy Bodecker was pimping it ahead of the curve and NOW, every single shoe company makes super goofball rainbow puke and diarrhea direct from Rainbow Bright's asshole.

At least with the EARLY pre 2006, SBs there was more of a rhyme and reason to the zaniness. But now it seems to be a corporate formula of just puking out any nutjob colorway.
Probably the biggest culprits now are Adidas, Asics, and Reebok.

Anyway... I have so much inside my mind.
It's why I do Stock Exchange and hope to one day bring out DeadStock in its proper form. Maybe even get our Deluxe Apparel label going.

First I ever stepped foot in G-town's UATW yesterday and I clearly did not know they carry all the those different brands.....WOW...finally got my stuffy tokyo shirt from there.

Oh yeah, went to Cmonwealth(Cmonwealth all in the cut hiding) and Kickballers as well, DJ Quixotic was killing it over there. The best sell was coming from Cmonwealth, kickballers seem like they had nothing on discount.

But, I gotta check out Palace 5ive, I am wondering if it is just like ELite...

Oh yeah, Rock Creek Park is not a cool place to walk around, me and my pops thought we might follow the trail since we were on the chill/upscale side of NW. When we got deeper and started to realize the surroundings/situation and the only men walking around, it was time to get the F out. My pops told me we need to hurry up and get out since the place seem like a place for Gays to meet. One dude winked at me, I was getting ready to throw a rock at his head, but we would of been out numbered...Never again, very uncomfrontable...

yesterday's rose, fairfax by ffx high school.
salvation army, manassas on 234 by manassas mall.
goodwill, manassas couple streets down salvation army.
and apparently there are some in leesburg and i heard they got some good stuff because of all the rich people in that area donating their old designer stuff.

district 51 up in dc is consignment. i don't know if it's still open since that store didn't have any account with any brands and the fact that commonwealth , major , and kickballers opened up.

take the orange bus to foggy bottom, walk down 4-5 blocks and you are at georgetown. (major, kickballers, etc)

florida ave (red line? i would take a car because it's a long walk from the metro to cmonwealth from the train)

SE is where you want to stay out of. you'd get robbed from left and right.

Actually Commonwealth isn't too far from the subway, you can get off at the U Street stop (which puts you at about 13th and U) and walk down to 18th and U which is where Commonwealth is (on Florida Ave right off where 18th and U meet). And along the way heading down U Street you can take a left on 14th where there is a Downtown Locker Room right to your left (a chain store with a decent selection) and if you go in the other direction on 14th there's Palace 5ive which is the only store in DC with a legit SB account.

It's all about where you go. A good amount of SE is becoming gentrified, a lot of older white people who work in the district who can lay down $800,000 on a townhouse like Eastern Market. Just don't cross the river and you'll be fine for the most part, but as we all know crazy shit happens everywhere in DC.
