footlocker is always on point with important release dates (ie jordan, lebron, kobe etc.). other kicks which aren't as important don't carry a launch date (penny's, dunks etc.) this is why some kicks are released later in footlocker.

and another cool one is a WWII era colt 45 semi auto handgun, also, gift of dad.
he has pretty good taste in mechanical items.
weaponry included.
he is part of a reserve marksman team, so I grew up on "target shooting".

also, my self esteem is pretty high up there.
I'm currently more important than Jesus, Mohammed, Buddha and someone named "dad"... but then again.... those are just names your mom calls out to me when I pound her.

guns are misused all the time.
however, guns are pretty awesome when some gigantic piece of shit 3 times your size is about to kill you with his Bear sized cave man paws and you need a way to defend yourself against said cro-magnon man.

truthfully I did see at a lot of arabic after googling your "term". so kudos to you.
but I don't read arabic.
sorry.

I'm not white: I'm Irish American-Indian Turkish Someting.
I don't subscribe to the American SAT checkbox mentality.
I also fail to see how my skin being as pale of those roaming Africa since time began, makes me incapable of firing or owning a firearm?

Are you suggesting that because I'm white that I'm unable to use a firearm?
You did say, because I used the word "stoked", and must therefore be "white", and therefore do not own a gun... that black/brown/non-white people only own and use guns?

but then you say :
Guns are meant for pathetic, inferior subhumans who are subjected to being bullied and repeatedly egged on when they were little kids.

so therefore, you are basically saying black people are : "pathetic, inferior subhumans who are subjected to being bullied and repeatedly egged on when they were little kids."

thats racist man.
that is really uncool.

I have no problem fist fighting, either. let me know where to be.

however I think it's pretty barbaric, that you suggest that he who fistfights best, is somehow in the right or superior.
many smaller physically weaker people deserve to live and not be in fear just because they are physically smaller or not as skilled in the caveman like methods of brawling with every person they disagree with.

I for one, prefer talking. then guns.
usually right after talking.

When Wale says he is Signing, he isn't talking about Gang Signs.
He is talking about Sign Language.

I'm trying to keep you from looking like an idiot in your own signature.

if you still don't get it:
Deaf:
The word deaf is used differently in different contexts, and there is some controversy over its meaning and implications. In scientific and medical terms, deafness generally refers to a physical condition characterized by lack of sensitivity to sound. Notated as deaf with a lowercase d, this refers to the audiological experience of someone who is partially or wholly lacking hearing.
[1] In legal terms, deafness is defined by degree of hearing loss. These degrees include profound or total deafness (90 dB - 120 dB or more of hearing loss), severe (60 dB - 90 dB), moderate (30 dB - 60 dB), and mild deafness(10 dB - 30 dB of hearing loss).
Both severe and moderate deafness can be referred to as partial deafness or as hard of hearing, while mild deafness is usually called hard of hearing.

Within the Deaf community, the term "Deaf" is often capitalized when written, and it refers to a tight-knit cultural group of people whose primary language is signed, and who practice social & cultural norms which are distinct from those of the surrounding hearing community.
This community does not automatically include all those who are clinically or legally deaf, nor does it exclude every hearing person.
According to Baker & Padden, it includes any person or persons who "identifies him/herself as a member of the Deaf community, and other members accept that person as a part of the community.[2]"

Most deaf people, at least in developed countries, have some knowledge of the dominant language of their country. This may include the ability to lip read, to speak, or to read and write. Having some knowledge of both the dominant language and sign language is called bimodal bilingualism.

Death:
Death is the end of life in a biological organism. Death may refer to the end of life as either an event or condition.
[1] Permanence is a defining characteristic. Death occurs in nature as a result of predation, disease, loss of habitat, or accident. The principal causes of death in modern human societies are diseases related to aging.
[2] Traditions and beliefs related to death are an important part of human culture, and central to many religions. In medicine, biological details and definitions of death have become increasingly complicated as technology advances.

ok.
now for the real info...
Sports Zone on M street in Georgetown is a good spot.
they get a lot of quickstrike stuff, all the jordan stuff, even the really limited lifestyle stuff.
They have been around for 20 years.

there is also a barney's co-op, (overpriced if you ask me), lacoste, Helly Hansen is on point, all that shit is on M.

Major, which prices their shoes $10-$50 higher than anyone else, is on wisconsin Ave. Which intersects with M street, go north.
M street is the main street of the Georgetown touristy Area (and, yes the georgetown hoyas).
It starts out as Pennsylvania Ave East of Georgetown.
Georgetown is North Western DC.
they carry a fine selection of faggy zipup trendy shit and homo printed tshirts for your usual sky rocket prices.

while walking up wisconsin, stop by the Adidas originals store, the PUMA store and stick your head in GT players.
you never know.

past GT players on your left is MAJOR.
tell em Diceone sent ya.

When your done with all the douche bags walking around M street, catch a metro bus or Gtown connector (short blue bus for retarded/spoiled college kids) EAST to 18th street and go north.
I'd recommend yet another bus.

get off at U st.
Commonwealth is on Florida Ave. in between U and California.
They price on retail for kicks. but their selection isn't as dense as Major, and no where near Sports Zone.
They have more gear, and it is a menagerie of more faggy zip ups, BBC stuff, and all that other crap that loudly reveals your non NY resident status, when, and if you do go to the mecca.

Tell Dody and Jerome at commonwealth Diceone said "what's up?"

there are a few other mom+pop spots. if you skate hit pulaski plaza, or "freedom plaza" as the new jacks call it.
14th and Pennsylvania.

that's about it for shopping in DC. if you are into anything else like Graff, naked chics, or buying me drinks, PM me.

I'm glad I can humor you.

I try and tell it like it is.

Dody and Jerome are good people and keep Commonwealth on lock.
they work hard and care about what commonwealth does and is involved in, in DC.

I respect Commonwealth out of everyone the most as they have been the most open, honest and communicative with me on a professional AND personal level.

Major is cool. Tim and Dukki are cool people and their store should be supported, but they do price higher than everyone else.

Both spots have a lot of that trendy zip up stuff going on and I just can't validate that type of apparel.
other than that, they have some cool shit in there.
BBC stuff just puts me off.
I actually saw a zip up and shirt by BBC last time I was in there(C'mon) that I liked.
But the price tag on said items, makes it hard to justify.

C'mon and major are great places for the harder to find shoes, they both carry tons of different shit.
they both add to DC.

H&M jeans are straight as long as you don't skate or cycle hard in them.

I have had the ass blow out of a couple of H&M jeans, but I rock the occasional nut fondler snuggies and I'm not some lean 12 yr old skeleton.

1. get your ass on the chinatown bus to NYC: $35 Roundtrip
2. go to LAfayette and Spring : WALK up Lafayette St. from Canal (North, Duh.)
3. Go to Supreme
4. Empty your bank account for 1 hat, 1 zip up sweat jacket and the contempt of everyone in that shop who knows you don't skate.
5. come back to DC with your box logo, being the envy of 14yr olds and asian nerds everywhere.

ok fine.
1. I'm at a New years Eve party.
2. you don't have the style or charisma to pull of that set of vintage glasses.
3. there is a dress shirt under the blazer.
4. it was a formal dinner earlier, hence the blazer.
5. the gold rope costs more than you make in a year. ;)
6. I never wear blazers unless there is a reason, formal celebration usually...like new years.
7. I was the life of that party and everyone in their wanted those glasses.

given I'm a much older guy. I enjoy retro stuff and I'm not scared to wear crazy shit. I like to have fun and don't give a crap about status labels and brands as much as i do care about being unique, stylish and memorable.

I have some stuff runnning on the red line in DC.
it's about 8ft tall and 30ft wide.
it's old.

I don't go out "street bombing" b/c I'm old and have served over 3 yrs of my life in a jail cell because of graffiti and graffiti that lead to a charge of assaulting a police officer.
I still catch the occasional "what's up now" and "I'll go over these toys" when the mood and opportunity strikes.

If you know of some rundown buildings/abandoned stuff let me know(i'm totally serious) I'm always game to paint.

Honestly there is a freight yard calling my name these days.
I'm thinking of checking it out, but ever since 9/11 DC adn the metro area have been intense and you just won't see a lot of graff from anyone anymore.

As far as customs go, I think I make some high quality stuff.
I have people like Jor, Tommy Rebel, Stash, Futura, Coltrane Curtis and retailers like Kicks HI and DQM whom have validated my work as on par or superior to Manufactured quality footwear.

I also don't like "custom" sneakers.
I do really like prototype designs, couture, and meticulous hand made "1 of" type items.
but real care and attention to detail has to go into it.

DC stand up.

I do have fun when I dress.
Good! Help me bring back the dress shirt with Tie and sweater vest at parties!

Just as long as it doesn't look geeky.
Actually I have found "geeky" to be pretty "fun"... plus I'm into video games, art, and sneakers... total geeksville if you ask me.

And fine, after further inspecting the glasses they're OK, i'll give you that. You definitely look like an odd character wearing them at a party regardless though.
You know oddity and contrast tend to be how I develop a "style". I like flow, as long as it all jives over all.
plus, who wants to "blend in"?
but part of my flow can be contrasting things.
Also, I usually aim to stand out and blast myself as being flyer than you.

If wearing sunglasses at night is "weird" or "pointless" then wearing Dunks, a basketball shoe from 1987, while NOT playing basketball is even weirder.
The adaptation of items into environments for which they weren't intended is called "ingenuity".
also: please see the song "I wear my sunglasses at night"

If you were at a formal affair, and it needed that attire with the blazer, why not ditch the blazer and dress shirt after?? Seems like more sense.
Well, I'm a grown ass man.
Big boys can wear those things and not have to worry about the weennies who don't own any, making fun of them.
I personally like wearing suits, ties, cuff links, monocles, and the occasional Ascot with my various footwear, watches, brass knuckles, sterling silver pretzel.

Wearing sunglasses indoors or at night only further exemplifies my rockstar ego and ability to peer aimlessly into your girls top without you thinking I am even looking in her direction.
yay!

Oh, if you want to find some old buildings to do your art/graffitti, go explore NE Ivy City on New York Avenue. It is filled with old buildings, but beware of the dangers of actually going there, I always past it when I go to my father's house up in NE. Not the best place to be, but it has many old buildings. I believe on Capitol Hill, there is also some old buildings left which is much safer than Ivy City and plus people would actually take time to check out your work.

Since you mention red line, do something in FriendShip Heights, always busy up there and a lot of successful living people up there.

But if you do get the nerve to do some art in Ivy City, your the Illest person I will ever "know"

Yeah, the local people like to see things like that because it brings color and a bit of enlightment to there neighborhood, but the younger people may think other wise and try and screw things up. But if you are for that, I support you 100%, just don't end up somewhere were things can get hectic fast.

DC and PG slowed down in early 2000, it's picking back up now due to the rich people buying property in the city and raising the cost of living to numbers which cannot be met by several of those living right now. Not enough money leads to them moving out, and PG is just outside of DC = tensions rising as one thinks they're better than the other and war ensues

yeah, DC's rapid real estate greed and displacement is one of the worst in the US. Socio-economic conditions have much more of an impact in peoples lives than news channels and government figure heads admit, as they reap the benefits of said land development in the form of taxes, fees and free PR.

I always watch my back, in reality... no one else can be expected to.

Thanks man glad you liked it, nobody has seemed to pick up on the mock FGTH/Wham parallel in the execution but hell I'm just putting them out to amuse myself anyway, if I expected most people who frequent these boards to get it I'd be disillusioned pretty quickly. You can look at the thread in the local section on niketalk, someone was saying they were charging above retail but someone else posted who said they were in line and that they paid the regular $200 retail. Though as far as I'm concerned if they want to charge $500 and can find people to pay it then props to them, as available as those were anyone who paid over retail was a damn fool, especially if there are still pairs out there as you mentioned.

We would like to thank all the heads for coming thru and blessing us on our first day open (Friday). Make sure to check our website/blog (http://www.kickballersdc.com) to see how dope ish went down.

Today (Saturday) we are excited to welcome ROCKITBOOK to KICKBALLERS, as a feature article is cooking in the oven. KB will be the only shop carrying the mag as well. So make sure you recover from last night, shower, drink some water, roll an L, and do whatever you have to do to make sure you find yourself at KB today, as a gang of heads are coming thru.

We would like to send a huge shout to D.C.'s own DARREN HARPER, pro skateboarder who has recently been added DGK's (Dirty Ghetto Kids) roster. He is really killin' it and holdng it down for D.C.

Also, we would like to thank D.C.'s own WALE and his entire fam for coming thru and showing love on our opening day.

As always, we thank all of you for the continuing support. D.C. stand up!

I who wasn't a fan of all these shops opening, I find through the first month all these shops might just make it. However I don't really think there is room for another store, because of all the accounts being gone. Then it would be same shit different shop. Limited account are still available and with the rumor of supreme looking to open more accounts that's the only way I think another store could survive is if they had extreme RARE brands. I love and embrace the success of Richmond as far as clothing goes, and now all we need is a sports team and we're on the map!

you guys have sports teams.
go support them and go to their games.

Go Braves! Go Kickers! Go River Dogs!

Richmond won't ever get a PRO franchise as the city is too conservative and unsupportive. Same reason all concerts bypass Richmond Coliseum and go straight to the NORVA and the Verizon Center.

Same reason all these stores are open now and not 4-10 years ago when it wasn't a cool idea.
Anyone remember Lion Paw? they were one of the first retailers I ever saw carry LRG. I think that was about 1997. LRG wasn't bad when it started out.
shit is JC Penny wear at this point.

yeah we do have sports teams but its more exciting i guess when we have major teams like with the NFL, NBA, etc etc. It would be nice to watch one of richmonds teams against the lakers, the NY jets, the yankees, or LA Galaxy..you kno?! and it does suck that all the good concerts are over in SOVA or NOVA. but there is a major spread of Streetwear botiques in richmond. Like im still tryna get used to having the first shop here. but its all good i guess..gives me something to do in this dull ass city.

A. The Braves are farely well supported. Due to the size of the stadium it doesn't appear that many fans come, but compared to fan attendance of teams like the Tides and such we are right there.
B. The River Dogs have changed their name back to the Renegades, but depending on the night they have great attendance for a hockey game.
C. Well for the Kickers soccer isn't supported like other sports so i'll let that speak for itself.

Okay as far as Richmond being so conservative is very inaccurate. Depending where you are in Richmond that could be said, but not for the entire city. With the protest and political rallies going on in Richmond on a regular basis I don't see how you can say that. The people of Richmond are ready for something new wheather you take that in a political sense or in a civil sense. We were dominated by conservatives but now its somewhere near 60/40. And the mention of Lion Paw was irrelevant. So thank you kindly!

So a bigger stadium would mean what? even more empty seats?
stadiums don't make fans.
support does.

Richmond is SUPER conservative.
period. most "scene" people in richmond HATE to pay to go to events, drink PBR or whatever is cheapest, always want free shit, and only go where everyone else is going.

Even the most "urban" of the white breads there, is typically racist to some degree, and always refers to black based events, areas of town, and most of broad street as "so ghetto"...

Culturally Richmond is VERY polarized. it has a population of less than 1 million.
Few immigrants, and lacks the diversity of major cities.
it also has one of the nations highest rates of people that LEAVE the city between the ages of 23-35. you money makers and new idea builders.

I have had the privilege to be a part of hugely funded startup events in Richmond and grassroots startups.
I can easily say richmond is a very tough town to make it in.

I was born there and lived there essentially until 2005. I'm 31 years of age, and have not just observed, but participated in many aspects to push for growth and change in the youth/indy/subcultural areas.

There might be more college kids in attendance at VCU now.
but in summertime its a ghost town.

As far as political rallies, come to DC... its a 24hr a day, 365 day a year event. those tourists and here - gone people do not a city make.

I think richmond is a great city, but to deny the obvious massive conservative majority, that is reactive and not proactive, especially in trend lifestyle is a mistake.
can richmond grow: certainly, it has nowhere to go but up.

... and Lionpaw is extremely relevant.
there were a first for richmond. they carried shoes, clothing, music, graffiti supplies, and were very community oriented.
LONG before everyone was wanting to be the next alife, huf, dqm, or Bobbito's Footwork.

Like I said, Richmond is good. but people from there are so damn defensive and so local yokel, it's like nothing exists beyond it's borders, and how dare anyone comment or criticize that city.

I'm not sure how my reply about supporting Richmond's teams, turned into me having to defend my views and share my long long long and tired history with richmond.

but as stated : go support your teams.
shop at your stores
pay to get in events
spend money in richmond
make it happen in richmond.

I see where you are coming from with you arguements but one thing where you say Richmond is completely conservative just can't be said. The entire thing about Richmond is that actually most of the younger people who would be liberal just don't vote or aren't concerned with public issues. I don't think its a fair statement at all. And i see where you say racism is still alive in richmond but that is just part of its tradition. Capital of the confederacy, so you can't hate the history but you don't have to embrace it.
And to say that locals are defensive thats true in any city i think. I think Reason(maybe a different company made this shirt) said it best "Go Love
Your Own City."
And as far as diversity goes in Richmond and surrounding areas, Asians are on a rapid rise. Look at the new neighbors that practically dominate all available real estate in the west end of the city, and what are they ..... Cambodian, Phillipino, or something in between.
I'm not saying that a new stadium is what the braves need, if they do its a smaller stadium. All the other teams of the Triple-A have more reasonable size stadiums for Triple-A teams.
Dice....how fair of a comparision is dc political rallies to any other city?! C'mon be fair man!
I know my city is conservative but if you sit back and watch, you'll see how often we have so many different festivals and cutural events.
I'll see you at stockexchange we can rap about this all day!

cool! like i said "make it happen in richmond."
But, I was a never a sit back and wait type of guy.

I'm not talking about the youth of richmond for the most part. im talking about that city as a whole.

richmond has made some great changes as of late.

And my point about political rallies, is that those people have little or no effect on the city they are visiting form an economic standpoint in development and growth of consumer culture. if anything they are they antithesis of consumerism.

all that aside... all you resellers in richmond come on up to DC! Stock Exchange is well on its way to growing into a national event!

Worldwide brands, designers, and peoples will make the trip to the nation's capital.
it'll be like UN meetings with drinks, music, no war and fresh gear.
